Got my ballot and getting excited
« on: October 12, 2008, 02:47:33 PM »
I got my absentee ballot (NY) yesterday!  A friend said she got hers this past week (Michigan)!  I'm getting excited and considering booking tickets to DC in January!  That's how confident I am becomming about Obama/Biden chances.

All the American expats I know are voting Obama/Biden.  Not a single one is rooting for McCain.  Not scientific by any measure, but it does seem telling considering American expats in London tend to be highly (erm over)-paid, professionals...Republican territory.

Cliff

Who is lovin the weather these days and got his Visa extended till 2011!  Yippee.

Hey Cliff,

Other than for humor, I don't know anyone who is looking at the McCain/Palin ticket.  They have certainly provided us with rolling on the floor laughter.  Did you know John McCain has a 130 IQ?   Sarah Palin has attended either 4 or 5 colleges in 5 or 6 years for a 4 year degree, Like the Energizer Bunny, they keep going, and going, and going.   ;D  Have the best day

Cliff, I don't see anything on the performance calendar for January, but if you go in December you can see The Nutcracker.

Hey Cliffy:

Unless you are planning to wear a tutu to vote (something I'd pay to see  :D), I assume you meant to say you got your ballot, not your ballet!

Like you, I'm increasingly optimistic about how this campaign is unfolding.  Yet I do worry about how accurate these polls are.

The national polls are meaningless, what's important are the polls in the 6 or so battleground states.  Do you think the media is overemphasizing the "Bradley" affect?  Meaning that Obama has to be ahead by 5 or 6 points to actually be even?  Or do you think the economic crisis is trumping that?

RAB

Congrats on your extended visa btw.

Oops!  My bad.  Now I know exactly what to wear in Jan!

Well, in truth I haven't really thought about the Bradley effect.  I'm hoping that it will be offset by the economy and Palin.

But in truth, I just don't want to think about the ramifications for the country if Obama is clearly in the lead (in all polls) and still manages to lose the election.
