Another Oral case, Is it higher risk?
« on: September 24, 2008, 07:58:28 PM »
Dear Experts,
I've written same question on other site, I felt better with expert's answer. But  since then I experienced  diarrhea and poor appetite. Now I am getting worried again.
I had unprotected oral sex (both way) with female sex worker in Asia about 9th week ago. I know oral sex is very low risk. But what I worry is that 10 days before  the oral sex I cut my foot in ocean quite deeply and I had Tetanus vaccination in the hospital. By the time of the encounter, my foot wound was not healed yet (infected little) .
Is there any higher risk getting infection in my case? Does the vaccination and unhealed wound effect  my immune system?  ???
Since 3 weeks ago I feel my lymph node in thigh is swollen. Then last week I had a couple of diarrhea and week long poor appetite.
Sorry for my english. Please help me!

Nam,

Getting a blowjob is not a risk for hiv infection. Going down on a woman is also not a risk for hiv infection. You have not had a risk for hiv infection.

It doesn't matter about your tetanus shot or your cut foot. These two activities are still not risks for hiv infection.

If you feel unwell, see a doctor. It's nothing to do with hiv.

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts

You didn't have a risk and you were told twice. No you don't need a test.

Are you listening to what is said to you here or only to your anxiety and fears? You didn't have any risk so there is no need for testing. Period.

Getting busy with other things in your life ought to help. And so will not surfing the net to look for more (mis)information to scare yourself with.

And if your symptoms persist check things out with your doctor.
