I started a blog
« on: September 02, 2008, 10:59:49 PM »
Okay, I'm not 100% sure this is the right forum to post it on, but you know, here goes.

I'm still new to being HIV Positive, I found out in Nov/Dec of 2007.  Early on I decided I wouldn't let it take over or rule my life..okay as much as any of us can say that.  I also decided I would not let it ruin my life.

The old saying goes you can see the glass half full or half empty.  I prefer half full.  HIV has been alot of things, not all of them pleasant, but I mainly see it as a challenge to be a better person and live a better life.  In my journey with HIV I'm constantly tormented by seeing the utter stupidity of other gay guys pretending they can't get HIV or not caring if they do.

Now, I know it's hypocritical for me to be annoyed at others, because frankly I didn't think I would get it either.  Of course, realistically, how many of us thought we would become poz?  Yea, I thought so.  Okay, so as I make my rounds on manhunt, gay.com, craigslist, and at the baths I notice alot of behavior that I can't believe.

I have tried posting "how not to catch HIV" to craigslist.  I got a lot of good feedback.  In fact out of 40 responses only 2 of them were negative.  Everyone else thanked me or asked a question.

This inspired me to write a blog and use it as a bully pulpit.  Some people will hate me (oh well), some will like me (yea!), and I might just help someone along the way.  I enjoy writing and I'm told I have a knack for it.  (At least that is what the editors of the magazines I write for say... lol).

If you would like to check out my blog, it's at http://hotpuppy.typepad.com

It is a no-holds-barred take on what I'm thinking from day to day.  I'll warn you that I am not going to sugarcoat... but past that enjoy and let me know what you think.
Don't obsess over the wrong things.  Life isn't about your numbers, it isn't about this forum, it isn't about someone's opinion.  It's about getting out there and enjoying it.   I am a person with HIV - not the other way around.
