First and only time!!! So scared!
« on: September 01, 2008, 11:42:44 PM »
Hello to all,

I have got a few questions, I know that very similar one's  have been answered before in other threads. Believe me, I've read many of them?  Okay, so here is my situation.  40 days ago, I recieved an unprotected blowjob from a female "adult entertainer". I found her listed on the internet, I thought she was just going to give me a private 30 min. lapdance, but this was not the case. I quickly found out that she was a prostitute. Since I had no previous sexual experiences before this, I only agreed to unprotected oral sex from her. She said that she uses condoms for sex and does not use drugs. She also said that she was tested 3 weeks prior to our meeting.  I asked her before anything happened and a couple of days later.  Of course, people do lie and I don't know if she was or not. After the meeting I started to worry about STD's at this time I was not worried about HIV. Then a couple of days later, I came across the CDC website that states that insertive oral sex is a low risk situation.  Now the fear and worry started to set in.  A week later I got tested for STD's. All were negative. In the following days and weeks I could feel every ache, pain, palpation, and itch in my whole entire body.  I haven't had a fever, I don't think I have had a rash, but I do feel some pain in my underarms.  Especially, the right underarm.  It feels like a throbbing pain at times, dull at times, and sometimes a burning pain. I can't say it is constant, but if I think about it I can feel it or I just sometimes notice it.  I can't feel anything with my fingers, but I don't know exactly what I am looking for. At 34 days I got a rapid fingerstick test for HIV. It was negative. I couldn't wait and needed some sort of reassurance or least an answer. I thought my fears would subside after the negative, but it was the next day that I started to notice the underarm pain. I don't know if I should just ignore this and move on from the situation or go get tested again.
Also, assuming the woman did have HIV and was tested negative 3 weeks prior, this would have put her in the window period.  Meaning that she was most infectious at the time of our encounter.  She also had a tongue piercing and I am not circumcised.  I also had recieved my 2nd shot out of the 3 shots required for a Hep B vaccination about a month prior.  Would any of these factor into my risk of acquiring HIV.  I did not inspect her mouth for blood, but I didn't see any on her teeth when we talked. I also did not kiss her because she said that she doesn't kiss.

No risk. Insertive Oral is actually what she did. You had "receptive oral" Once again, No Risk. There are known agents in Saliva that neutralize HIV, and in the history of HIV there have been 0 documented cases of HIV from getting head.

Also,  Negative test at 34 days seals the deal. Relax friend, deal with the guilt if it is there, then move on.

There is no HIV risk associated with receiving oral sex. I urge you to read the LESSONS section at the top of this page and familiarize yourself with the real vectors of HIV transmission: Namely, unprotected anal and vaginal sex. It really is that simple.

bLogical, I know you  mean well, but please pay attention to what the "welcome thread" specifies:

"Only those Moderators and members who are authorized to answer questions in the Am I Infected? forum are permitted do so. Unauthorized responses may be deleted without permission of the poster. Repeatedly posting replies of this nature may result in a Time Out or permanent ban, at the discretion of the Moderator Team."
"Many people, especially in the gay community, turn to oral sex as a safer alternative in the age of AIDS. And with HIV rates rising, people need to remember that oral sex is safer sex. It's a reasonable alternative."

-Kimberly Page-Shafer, PhD, MPH
