advice needed
« on: August 15, 2008, 09:09:16 AM »
It is now over two years after my diagnosis and still not on meds as my ID Doc says I have no need to go on them. Now I have been involved for now more than a year with my partner and he is negative, now he wants to immigrate to Australia so to invest in property there but my Question is what is the chances for a hiv positive person to immigrate and what exclusions is there to the investments.?

You're a South African, yes?

Australia has a restrictive immigration policy which favours skilled immigrants. Since we have a socialised health and comprehensive welfare system, immigrants with major health issues who seek long term or permanent residence are expected to demonstrate that they will not be an undue burden on the social welfare system.

You are strongly advised to seek expert advice on this matter.

Doll,

HIV is not necessarily an impediment to entry to Australia provided you can prove you have a claim to be here. Skilled immigrants with a job to go to are favoured, so are people with family connexions.

Really, entry to Australia is complicated. South Africa is considered a stable and democratic state so the refugee thing won't work.

Ronnie, seek some expert advice.

MtD
