Hello

I am conerned that the following scenario has put me at risk. Heres is my story

1. Went to massage parlor and once there the masseuse put a condom on me once the massage was over.
2. She put the condom on me and performed oral sex on me, which was pretty quick (less than min)
3. After oral sex, the woman put some KY jelly on the condom (water based?) and we had intercourse , which was actually pretty quick (less than minute) and after that she got off of me and i took the condom on , as i took the condom off, there seemed to be no tears on the condom
4. I am VERY worried about that scenario and have become so worried that I have decided to get a PEP done for the "just in case" scenario but am not sure if it appropiate to do or not.
5. Can someone please help

Nothing you have written suggests to me that your doing PEP is warranted. I don't see that a doctor would authorize it based on what you have reported.

Getting a blowjob is absolutely no risk for transmission to you.

You used a condom for intercourse which is exactly what you're supposed to do. They provide very effective protection. If the condom had failed in anyway you would have known it. When a condom fails it's not about some teensy weensy little hole. The whole thing ends up looking like a fringed hula hoop on your penis.

So as far as I can see you are super worked up and anxious without any basis in HIV science. I don't see any need for testing nor for PEP.

Cheers,
Andy Velez

Thanks Andy.

I was very very worried. So you think my chances from getting it from that scenario are 0%

Papi,

NOTHING you did (or had done to you) put you at risk for hiv. You certainly don't need PEP and you don't even need to test over this incident.

No you're not hearing him. Rod was pointing out that the woman's sexual history is irrelevant and none of your business. You were not at risk.

Before you go making sexist assumptions about a sex worker, probably you should remember that you're the customer of a sex worker and hardly in any position to judge anyone else.

Youre right Matty..... I by far am in no position whatsoever to say that about her especiay if I really do not know AL of the facts about her. It is Sexist and uncalled for..I apologize for that ...... I have been trying to ease my mind about the incident and put myself to ease... even though i have to say that slowly and surely, i have been getting a little calmer now. It is VERY helping to know that there is some people on here that are very experienced on these sort of things that can set a persons mind at ease.... Of course peple are human and still get a litte nervous ...... In all, what i gather from all of this is :
1. Protected intercourse, however quick it was , was NO risk WHATSOEVER for my unwarranted nerrvousness
2. Protected Oral was as well, No RISK whatsoever
3. No testing for that incident was warranted especially not taking PEP for it (Given that any doctor would even alow such a thing based on incident)
4. And Lastly, practice safe sex each time there is intercourse

Um, if the girl in question used protection, she should feel absolutely no shame in taking on the entire NFL. You do not get HIV through protected sex. I am a little disturbed by your characterization. I know you are trying to be funny, but seriously... Making fun of someone else's supposed promiscuity always casts the accuser in a bad light.

I know I know... You are right .... i was wrong... for al I know , she may be doiung waht she is doing to get ahead in life for her or her son, family, etc.....  It does speak good things about her  judgement that the FIRST thing she did or even said was, CONDOM... I think its just my stupid unwarranted nervouseness that was keeping me a prisoner in my own head  / fear

Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusive negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to a four week Time Out (a temporary ban from the Forums). If you continue to post excessively after one Time Out, you may be given a second Time Out which will last eight weeks. There is no third Time Out - it is a permanent ban. The purpose of a Time Out is to encourage you to seek the face-to-face help we cannot provide on this forum.

Papi,

You had sex with your girlfriend, with or without a condom? Condoms aren't just for sex workers, you know. Unless you and your girlfriend have both tested for hiv and all the other STIs TOGETHER, then you should be using condoms.

You were not at risk during your massage incident as you used a condom. You ARE at risk when you have intercourse without a condom, no matter who your partner is. Hiv does not discriminate and neither should you.

Ann ,

Thanks for your response  and sorry that i have not posted in a while but like Andy and You have told before I have been trying to get on with my life and trying to not be so paranoid about the incident in which prompted me to write about before. I really do think it is of great help to have people like ou Ann and Andy because yall are vry knowledgeable about this unwarranted fear that most people cannot escape from that easy. Ann, i had a qustion for you about condom use in particular........ I once read one of your replies about condom use and the "what-ifs". You had mentioned that relating condom use and its effectiveness. Here is my question: Even though condoms are not 100% effective, is that because of people not using them or using them incorrectly ("double baging" , vaseline on condom, opening with scissors, etc) ?

2. The other question is : CDC and other web sites say that you do not get HIV or any other STDs if you wear a condom EACH time u will have intercourse, so then why is there so much misinformation about that even if u do use condoms for safe sex u still are gonna get it ? even though most the sites NEVER show any links showing statement was made from CDC or other accreditable sources.

3. Last question: I know that if condoms were not EXCELLENT in preventing STIs , given the way people consent to casual sex, there would be a CATASTROPHIC record numbers of new hiv cases not just here in the u.s. but all over the world , so even though it always is a POSSIBILITY that on a rainy day u can get struck by lightning even though it is HIGHLY UNLIKELY given that you do something stupid to get struck . is that same scenario w/ condom use ? that even though there is a POSSIBILITY that u can get STIs, it is  HIGHLY UNLIKELY unless you do something that SIGNIFICANLTY decreases the protection of condim ( vaseline, opening w/ scissors, etc) and is that why the condom manufacturers put the phrase " Greatly reduces the risk " because they know that people will do something to reduce the effectiveness of the condom ?

Thanks in advance

Papi,

1. Condom failure is the result of improper use or storage. Read through the condom and lube links in my signature line.

2. Sites that say things like "even if u do use condoms for safe sex u still are gonna get it" usually have a moral agenda. They don't approve of sex outside of marriage. They want you to practice abstenence.

3. If you use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple.

Fair enough Ann... It sure sounds real simple and thats why it boggles my mins that some people would write stuff that suits their agenda and in the process scare a hella lot of people.
as far as your question Ann, My GF and I have been sexually active for three years and the last time she tested for STDs was two months ago and they were all negative (HIV, herpes, clap, Gono, etc) and the last time i have tested for STIs was almost a yr ago and it was good AS WELL..... since the time that i was tested my sexual history was : Five girs i have had intercourse with , Out of the Five girls (including the massage parlor girl), All five girls have been PROTECTED intercourse w/ condom and for oral sex as well.... Protected oral with four of the girls (condom on w/ receiving oral)and with one of the girls i did not use a condom for oral sex....Yes, I did wear a condom w/ my girlfriend but my worry is, that lets just say that just for concious calming reason, that the condom broke (which did not look like it) that i might have given my GF somethng becasue of my past sexual encounters

Papi,

Nothing you did with the other women put you at risk for hiv infection. You don't need to wear a condom for getting a blowjob. Getting a blowjob is NOT a risk for hiv infection, condom or no condom.

As long as your gf is using condoms when she has anal or vaginal intercourse with other men, you two are good to go.

Thanks for your reply Ann.

Based on the past sexual encounters that i have told you about , of which i wore a condom, i was wondering Ann if u think that by wearing a condom would be reason to test ... even though i had protectred sex or is there no need to test over the protected sex encounters

Papi,

We always recommend that all sexually active adults have full sexual health screening at least once a year.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results. Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

It's up to you what you do. While you don't strictly need  hiv testing, it's what responsible adults do as a matter of routine.

Ann,
Thanks for the reply. It has been a while since I have gotten tested. I can agree that it is something that needs to be done every so often just like you would for colon cancer and other cancers like that , sort as something that is good  ettique to do. For a bit this fear monster was controlling every aspect of my life and i wouldnt be able to even eat sometimes because of the fear the sex worker encounter brought me. Knowing that she was willing and insisteness on using a condom in a way made me more at peace. Of course, even then sometimes you have that  what if in the back of your mind.

I read your lube/condom info link under your name. Pretty useful info to know, i was not aware of the nonoxynol-9 thing. Is it possible that the sex worker i had the incident with used a nonoxynol-9 coated condom?

Papi,

N-9 is mainly a concern to the receptive partner as the N-9 impregnated lube (which is on the outside of the condom) can irritate the lining of the anus and/or the vagina.

Keep posting about this no risk situation and you'll be given the time out Rodney warned you about. Please consider yourself warned.

I need some clarification and i am a little scared.  Is it possible to get HIV from a sex worker that jacks you off ? Is it possible that the virus could have been on her hands and when they were jacking me  off that it gt on my penis. I wore a condom when there was some short intercourse , but that also is worrying me that even though i wore a condom for intercourse that i was still at risk.. can someone please help me out

You should know by now that getting jacked off is NOT a risk for hiv infection. You've been coming here long enough to have the basics of transmission down by now. We're not here to hold your hand every time you go to a sex worker and scare yourself. It's time you started applying what you've learned here to your life without having to run to us every time.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple - which means all these other modes of transmission you worry about just are NOT things you should be worrying about. Use condoms for intercourse and you're covered where hiv is concerned.
