rip Estelle.

I met her when I volunteered at the VIP stand at the Gay Pride Parade in West Hollywood about 10 years ago.  She was a lovely (and tiny!) lady.

Oh, my heart sank when I read about her death.  I would watch 'Golden Girls' every Saturday night as I would get ready to go out and dance.  That show would always (and still does) put me in a good mood.  She'll be missed.

Oh,my. That news hurt me like if she was someone I knew. I really love that show. I'll really have a fit when Betty White passes away because she looks so much like my recently deceased mom. Even her naive form of thinking was similar to mom's. :'(

:'(

This is horrible...I loved her in 'Mannequin'!

But I have a confession...

In the first season of "Golden Palace" the spin-off, when Bea left...well, I went to a taping of the show, and I got picked out of the audience to sing 'Happy Birthday' to Estelle. I will always remember that...and I will always remember when I got to meet her after, and she hugged me.

I will truly miss her!

I absolutely love the Golden Girls.  Estelle Getty was a hoot!  I liked the line..."yeah, and you keep on eating those Chip 'o Hoys ........"
My friend and I used that line on each other when we were pigging out, no matter what we were eating.

I also loved the line "Picture it.., Silicy.. 1948... a voluptuous maiden making her way through the village....."

I don't think I missed a show and yes, I watch all the reruns too. I remember seeing her on a talk show and how pretty she was and wondered how they made her up to look so old. I aways waited for the come backs she had when Betty White open her mouth.
