Mrs. Fields goes BK
« on: August 15, 2008, 07:24:08 PM »
I remember being fresh out of college and managing a western wear business which was somehow connected to Well Boot Company in Texas.  But I have never been to Texas.  I was told in passing that Mrs. Fields was not a real person and she didn't actually make cookies.

Mrs. Fields was in reality of the 80's a beautiful young blond wife of the CEO of a multi national chain store.  Her husband needed something for her to do so he formed Mrs. Fields Cookies on her behalf.  She may have known the oven was the thing with the knobs on it.  In today's headlines, Mrs. Fields has declaired bankruptcy.  I never saw her picture but liked the cookies, especially the white chocolate macadamia nut, which will be missed when I have my medical MJ munchies.  ;D  Have the best day
Michael

Darn you Michael, next you'll be telling us the Jolly Green Giant and Mr Muscle and the Hamburgler never existed in real life either.  >:(

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts

Actually Ann,

I met Mr. Muscle the other day because I have been on Physical Therapy and joined the gym for extra time in the healing process.  However comma, when I was a child, I would spend Summer with Cousin Ruby and Cousin Jim because their kids were my age and we are still very close.

There are 5 of us who can verify there is a Jolly Green Giant because his picture is/was on a very tall building in the Salinas Valley, he was Cousin Jim's boss and could hit us with a can of beans.

The same 5 of us can also verify the Hamburglar also exists because one year at the Salinas Rodeo, we met Ronald McDonald and the Hamburglar.

If I can possibly shatter any more illusions today, we met Miss Kitty, who was the Grand Marshall and she refused to ride a horse in the rodeo or the parade.   ;D  Have the best day

Ladies, Gentlemen,

This is all pre-Al Gore and their were no links.  But, since I am practically engaged, I have been working on my cooking skills like Mrs. Fields, my mega bucks bride is going to have to open a business on my behalf and suddenly, I am inspired to do sausage treats for dogs.  ;D  Have the best day

Mr. Bubble and Calgon (Ascendia Brands) have also filed for bankruptcy recently:

So if you want to be taken away, Calgon won't be able to help you.

Cheers,

Henry

Henry Dear,

Not this year... I am a little concerned about which of us would be the bride and get all the attention. Just when I thought I had it figured out, the Press does a cut on Ellen Degeneres (as bride) and the lovely woman she is getting married with (whom, I thought would be the bride).

I also thought since my sister began planning her wedding at 5 years old, it was never too late to start planning.  But she had 3 weddings and all the best stuff has been used.  Do they make Brides dresses in Camo?  I want to have my wedding at a military installation.  ;D  Have the best day
Michael
(who is wondering if 3rd Cousin Erik would give away the bride)

About the Bridezilla Show... Most definitely!
