Apple cider vinegar
« on: July 08, 2007, 07:16:19 PM »
I have been taking apple cider vinegar tablets regularly now for about a year. It has eliminated a yeast infection in my armpits completely. I also gargle with it in a solution of very warm water and it helps relieve from the pain of a sore throat. There are numerous web pages available on this subect and ACV has many homeopathic properties. I told my father about this and he immediately started using it and his jock itch is gone.

Hey Steve,

Welcome to the Forums! I'm glad your yeast infection has cleared up, but I'm not sure if you can attribute that to taking ACV tablets.

Hi Steve,

I am taking a mixture of spices (thyme, cinnamon, Ginger, garlic, fenugreek, raw sugar, hot chili) soaked in apple cider vinegar for 10 days. It has cleared a fungal skin infection that I had in my scalp, ace and the sole of my left foot.

Just learned that apple cider vinegar is a great weed killer...started using it on the weeds on my sidewalk.  Not sold yet on any medicinal values, though.

This post caught my eye.  As usual, I must begin with a bit of background.  Since I'm 61, my darling old mother is... wow! 88!  As long as I can remember, she has been drinking about two coffee-measures worth of ACV for arthritis.  'Grandma Jenny' cuts the taste with a bit of honey (or, "O' Honey").  I can attest to her condition prior to this amazing, disgusting regimen and the results.  About thirty years ago she was in pretty awful shape, her hands especially gave her trouble - almost to the point of a true disability - and she's quite an active gal.

Her brother, Uncle R, adheres to the same daily ACV deal with similar results.  He's now 81.  A champ!

When my mother inadvertently missed more than a few days of the stuff, she began to suffer the familiar stiff, painful joints, which lead her to Edgar Cacye's (known as "The Sleeping Prophet") remedy.  She's been a believer for decades.  She used this dude's eye exercises to correct her very cheesy vision to 20/20.  I had no idea she ever wore glasses until she brought out a box of the snazzy 40's- and 50's-era glasses she sported back when her vision was sub-par.  You'd think I'd notice she was wearing glasses when I was a kid, but I think dodging the buzzing butter knives she constantly flung in my direction seemed more practical.

And this gal ain't nobody's fool: Grandma Jenny is a funny, brilliant Jewish mother whose brain runs circles around her two over-achieving sons who usually try to show off but end up with their testicles oozing in their palms.  Humiliating.

Fortunately, with all my other problems, my arthritis isn't terribly uncomfortable.  But when it gets consistently annoying, I'll apply Jenny's method and be thankful for it.

But for now I can pray thanks to the heavens that she lives almost a thousand miles away.  (There's probably a tasteless reference to 'Family Guy' somewhere here, but I'll bow out on a semi-dignified note and simply smile to myself.)

I tried taking it st8 up hardcore b4 but found it pretty strong for my taste. So I use 3 tablespoons of ACV each time as starter when I change my Kombucha Tea solutions for a new batch. Easier that way. And, it ( kombucha) does help calm an upset tummy occasionally.

Bottoms Up. ;D
