Pardon my ignorance, but isn't lent some sort of catholic thing?

I know that there's like dietary restrictions on it or something, but exactly what is it?

That's one to check off the MIA List.  I wonder how many others I might be able to file under "Lent"?

There's a bunch of folks that have vanished in the past two months.

Welcome back.

Somewhat of a catholic thing, but basically, a spiritual exercise where one tries to forego something during the 40 days prior to Easter.  The sacrifice would remind you of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, etc.  Catholics traditionally refrained from eating meat throughout Lent and refrained from eating meat each Friday, throughout the year.  The ideal I suppose of the sacrifice would be to refrain from something that Jesus really would want you to give up.  How about sex? LOL

I don't need to put sex on the list of things to give up for Lent-I'm not having any anyway (see my post about needing a sex drive)! :D
