steroids
« on: February 20, 2008, 11:15:21 AM »
hi to everyone, i started gettin into weightlifting a few years back. i knew i would be faced with makin the decision to try steroids or not. unfortunately a buddy of mine ended up gettin some and i made the stupid mistake of trying it but i only did one shot and that is all. the needle was new and sealed and read sterile until opened somethin like that. the shot was in the butt cheek.  my only concern is we pulled from the same vial both with sterile needles. him for his shot me for mine. now i got to thinkin what if he was hiv + and put some of his blood in the vial before i got there. or somethin of that sort. this was back in late july of 07. i got a hiv test on feb 8th which came back non reactive. which put this over 6 months maybe even 6 and half. we did not use the same needle. can i believe my hiv test, was over 6 months enuff time for the test to be conclusive? thanks for taking the time to read this.

not,

What you did wasn't a risk for hiv as hiv does not remain infectious outside the human body.

Your test result is conclusive - you did not become infected with hiv from this incident. The window period for hiv testing is three months.

Protect your hiv negative status by using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently. Read all three condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use them with confidence.

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts

Are you listening to what is being said to you? Ann just told you that you are conclusively HIV negative.

Period. End of story.

No, using steroids would not affect  your test result.
