Good times, come to me now... PA Dem Primary
« on: March 05, 2008, 01:44:00 PM »
So, now that nothing was particularly settled with the Obama-Hillary Show last night (she may have won 3 contests, but really only 6 delegates or something more than Obama, so he still has a large lead -- and last time I checked total pledged delegates = win).

Anywho, I never expected Pennsylvania's Dem primary to be important as this was all supposed to be wrapped up by now, but hoards of national media will now descend upon me for the remaining 7 weeks until Pennsylvania's April 22nd primary.  What to do... what to do... The Philadelphia region is larger than most realize, and actually holds 1/2 of the total votes for the entire state -- all in a 5 county area.  And with 188 delegates (plus 74 super-delegates) at stake, Pennsylvania is by far the last remaining "big state" that will speak, though North Carolina also has a decent amount but doesn't vote until early May).  (remaining delegates by state can be seen here -- scroll to bottom of page: http://politics.nytimes.com/election-guide/2008/results/votes/index.html ).  Predictions in the local news media are proclaiming: "It will be like Iowa on steroids!"  k...

I'll add more if/when something fun happens here... Clinton has been leading here, but in recent weeks that lead has been steadily eroding.  7 weeks is almost 2 months, and we'll be bombarded with advertising and candidate appearances.  Horribly exciting!  omg!  Chelsea is here today!... I have 2 hours to dash over to the U-PA campus in West Philadelphia.

I can think of better things to do than to go see Chelsea I don't talk to reporters but would love to get a cushy Wall Street job through daddy's connections Clinton.

Well that's unfair.  I'm sure the Bush children will get some nice jobs through daddy.  Or at least marry well.

Yeah, they'll probably just marry well.

David, I fully expect to see a story about you streaking or doing some other thing.

No, I stopped streaking when I was around 13 and got locked out of the house naked.

Remember, you'll get on the TV if you say something mildly witty, canned, and populist-y in the interview.

I look forward to seeing your "man in the street" bit on one of CNN's video blogs things.

I was hoping that wearing my multi-hued paint splattered powder blue velvet Vivienne Westwood jeans and a couple bumps of ketamine would be all that I needed.
