Life Expectancy with & without hiv
« on: December 30, 2007, 06:45:57 AM »
I thought since so many people want to know how long they will live after they get hiv and such that this article was interesting.  Even though the first link is life expectancy for people who do not have the disease it shows just how good we have it in this day and age ( even WITH hiv) compare to just a generation ago. It helped me put things in perspective in that at my current age of 33 only a hundred years ago was considered quite old and that I am already lucky to have lived this long! I then put a second link up of hiv life expectancy in 2007 and you can see even with hiv we are well out-living our predecessors any way you look at it. So live for the moment! You may live a long time or a short time... But hiv positive or not we are living in a new and exciting world where the odds of living longer are for most and most of us have already lived well past the age of our ancestors.... http://www.longevitymeme.org/articles/viewarticle.cfm?page=1&article_id=11
