« on: November 29, 2007, 01:38:29 PM »
Hi Ann or other expert

I have protected sex with sex worker back in Sep 9th
The condom was intacted.
But after 2 weeks I have the worst every flu, or uncomfortable feeling.
I was so worried and I can wait to get test, so I went to test on the 39th day, it came back negative I know it's to early, what's my risk?
I still feel sick until now, it is normal to have a sick that long due to ARS?
I reason I am so scare is because I have fodyce spot on my scrotum , which condom can never protect, can hiv go through skin with fodyce spot??

I am so worry, Please replly me. Thank you very much.
By the way my english is not that good, hope you guys understand my question. :'(

Super, protected sex is just that protected. You do not need to test, you do not have HIV. If you're feeling ill see your doctor.

Read our Welcome Thread to learn more about HIV is and is not transmitted.

It's no surprise that you tested negative. Condoms provide very effective protection against HIV transmission. There was no need to get tested nor is there any need for further testing.

As far as your symptoms are concerned, that's something to discuss with your doctor. This is not about HIV. Period.

SD,

Once again, you did not have a risk for hiv infection. Whatever is going on with you has nothing to do with hiv. Nothing. Go see your doctor.

You're at the end of the window period (if you'd actually had a risk) so why don't you just go test, collect your negative result, and move on?

This is NOT an hiv situation.

Hi Ann Andy or other expert
I have posted this question in medhelp but I hope you guys can help to answer this question as well, Teak have answered me no, but I want your comments as well, also where can I fnd this information

I know sebaceous cysts on scrotum is a normal skin condition for men, but can HIV go through that type of skin? Because even you have protected sex, scrotum won't be covered.

Best Regards,
Superdown

The skin is a very good protector against HIV transmission. No, a cebacuous cyst would not in and of itself provide a means for transmission. HIV is a fragile virus that needs the kind of hospitable environment which the vagina or the anus provide to accomplish that. HIV transmission doesn't happen through cysts, pimples, nicks, boils, bruises, cuts and other skin happenings.
