I really wish that I could help Jaser, but I can't. I am severly dyslexic and math is a subject I have struggled with all my life.

Good luck with your homework.

Oh Mouse, this is a riot!  I hated geometry as well, but managed to pull straight A's.  I graduated high school in '87.

I just looked up how to do tangents online and I think I have the answer to your first link.  To find Tangent C, divide 24 (opposing side) by 7 (adjacent side).

http://www.clarku.edu/~djoyce/trig/tangents.html

The answer is c) 3.4826.  Please let me know if I'm wrong, lol!

For the third one (3-2)

With an angle of 28į, using the graph you read a tan ratio of approx 0.53.

As tan is opposing/adjacent side, you get

0.53= 24/x

Hence, x = 24/0.53 = approx. 45 (which is answer D)

4-1:

Just use the calculator. INV TAN 1.0355 = 46 (B)

5-1:

As above!

tan = opposing/adjacent means adjacent = opposing/tan

First, let's resolve w:

w = 11/tan 42 = 12.2

Then, find x:

(w+x) = 11/tan 23 = 25.9

x = 25.9 - w = 25.9 -12.2 = 13.7

Answer D is the right one.

Did you get it all complete Mouse?
If not, let me know which ones you are struggling with and I'll see if I can help. I used to be great at geometry and maths, till I hit University and they started throwing inverse hyperbolic functions at me. It was just gobbliedook.

Ugh. Thanks you guys but I'm totally screwed. I don't have enough time to finish the other tests. I'm going to have to retake this half of the class or earn my last .5 math credit some other way.

:(

Do they offer an Accounting or Consumer Math class?  I earned mine that way, when I barely passed Algebra...

I dunno. I should probably give my IS a call now.

... This is gonna suck.
