trying again...
« on: November 18, 2007, 03:38:56 AM »
I posted on this before and never got a reply...so i'll ask again...
Could someone tell me what the purple itchy, burning, painful bumps on my upper inner thigh could possibly be?
I've tried looking things up on the web, and i've ruled out any std, along with follicitus and ks lesions....beause i found out the latter does not hurt or itch.
Still don't know if this is hiv related, stress related, or just because my immune system might be low.
Now, i know the best thing to do would be to go to a doctor and have them look at it, but i am not in a situation where I can do that right now, and in the meantime, i'm trying to locate the source as to what this might be.

The description of your symptoms suggests it might be a lot of different things (based on my own Google search).
Not sure how you've been able to rule out certain STDs or folliculitus.  It could also be some kind of skin infection.
But diagnosing over the Internet is notoriously difficult -- especially for those of us who are not doctors or nurses.

If future discussion here indicates something serious, you'll need to see a doctor anyway.  So I urge you to
try to find a way to do so now.  All you might end up getting here is speculation about a wide variety of possibilities,
and that may even make you more anxious.

Sorry I could not be of more help.

Just, I agree with Henry. If you don't have a checkup coming up soon then it's at least worth a call to your doctor to discuss it.

Keep us posted if you learn anything more about it.
