Hmm,

Fingering, no matter what sort of details your fevered imagination manages to come up with, is NOT a risk for hiv infection.

If you cannot get these unfounded fears out of your head, perhaps it's time you sought counseling.

Hmmm,

You are conclusively hiv negative from the previous incidents you came here with. Unless you've been having unprotected intercourse since you tested in May, then you are STILL hiv negative.

You do NOT need to test over being fingered.

Keep going on about this fingering stuff and I'll give you a time out.

I was not feeling very confident about the test that I took back in my home country so I decided to take a test in USA.

I did another test today at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene in Mahatten, New York....(the clinic was on 115th & Lexington)

A few questions I hope you will be able to clarrify coz I was so nervous while I was at the clinic that I forgot everything I needed to ask.

01. They took two blood samples from me. the first one was collected into a tube and the second was from a prick to my finger which was collected to a little stick kind of thing. Why were two samples taken.?

02. I am not sure of the type of test that was done but I had to wait about 30 mins for the results. can you please let me know which test can give the results so soon and how accurate it is.

03. I chose a state clinic coz I thought that this was the safrest option. Howver, I didnt see them taking the needles out of the pack.. Is this sort of place safe and do they always use new needles.

04. The guy I spoke to when I collected my results told me that my HIV test was negative, but to come back in another 3 months and do another test. That freaked me. I mean since this was being told by an exxperineced person. So I asked him if the 3 month was not conclusive and he said that it was better to be safe and do a six month just to be safe.

05. He asked me when my last exposire was, so I said I had unprotected sex about 4 months ago and had just this fingeting incident 3 months ago. but I told him that I was not concerned about the fingering incident coz it's not a risky activity. He said that there is no such thing as non risk activity and that even fingering can transmit HIV if the person has cuts. This freaked me....

Please let me know what you think... Andy, please if you can find the time to answer my questions I would really appreciate it.

Thanks

You have reliably tested negative now and you absolutely do not need to test again.

It is very unfortunate that a healthworker is handing out that 6 months totally outdated  baloney.

You are HIV negative. Period. End of story. Get on with your life.

thanks Andy,

Do you know why they took two samples of blood....one from my vein in my arm and one from my finger

and once again the place I have mentioned is a responsible organisation right ? they would never do stuff like re use needles and all....

Yep, I think it's time to move on... FInally... I think it's time to live the American dream, have a baby and restart life..... now since all test are negative..

Pls let me know your thoughts on my questions above andy...

Thanks

hmm,

We are not in possession of crystal balls. If you want to know why they took two samples of blood, call them and find out. We weren't there, how should we know?

Clinics aren't in the habit of re-using needles. Can you imagine the lawsuits?

You are conclusively negative - but we've known that for a while now. Keep posting about this and you'll be quickly timed out. Please consider yourself warned.
