Welcome our New AIDSmeds Staffer!
« on: October 12, 2007, 08:40:03 AM »
Hey gang:

You may have noticed a new byline on some of our AIDSmeds special reports and news articles. Meet David Evans, associate editor of AIDSmeds.com, and the newest member of our team.

David has a rich history in AIDS treatment advocacy, beginning as a member of ACT UP Golden Gate in 1990. He has worked as a writer and educator at a number of AIDS organizations, including Project Inform, the STOP AIDS Project, the American Academy of HIV Medicine, and Gay Men’s Health Crisis.

You can read more about David and the rest of our team on our About Us page.

Besides writing and editing treatment-related content for Smart+Strong, David will also be helping me with our new videocast interviews at various AIDS conferences, including the one starting in about 12 days in Madrid, so you can expect to see him with a mic in his hand soon.

Welcome to the team, David!

Hi David.
Dont forget about us SENIOR CITIZENS who are HIV positive!! The longer people with HIV live....the more geriatric problems become issues that doctors must learn to address. HIV and old age.....unhappily together.

Peter,

Thanks so much for the warm welcome. I'm so thrilled to be working with AIDSmeds.com and with you and Tim. I've been a huge fan of the site and your's and Tim's activism and education work over the years.

It's a big job seeking out and writing about the news that our readers need to make the best treatment decisions, and I only hope I'm able to do that in the months to come.

Humbly and happily,
David ;D

Matt -- we won't be in SA, but if there's big HIV-related TB news, we'll write up stories from NYC.

Good, TB important in Africa hence moving the conference to Cape Town, but I remember the only person I met in Chicago last time who was HIV-positive (and not a friend) also had TB, also homeless, I think it is gonna come to the fore as a coinfection, TB.

Very good you got more staffers to cover stuff  :)

Edited cos I can't spell "fore"

David.

Nice to meet you.  You've got a great job but a lot of  finicky readers.  It won't be easy but I'm sure you're up to the task.

By the way, so you're going to Madrid?  YOu should interview our own Blondbeauty

He lives in Madrid and happens to be the only member in these forums approved by WINBA: World International Nail and Beauty Association.
