New Web Site for Those Who Have Personal Page WEBSITES
« on: September 30, 2007, 11:32:04 PM »
I recently moved my personal web site to another hosting provider. I have 350GB of storage space and after moving my domain (thedingoman.com)  I thought it might be good to start another website to give others out there who have their own websites an opportunity to have more exposure.  I created www.pozrider.com as a place for other gay/queer/BI men who may want to link up together.

If you currently have a personal website and would like to be listed please visit pozrider.com.  I will be more than happy to include your logo with a link. I am not doing this for profit and am not asking for anything in return.  I am doing this because I am on a two year service with my new hosting provider and will never use 350GB for my personal pages.

In order to be linked to pozrider.com your personal site must be a non-commerical site that is "free standing".

I am the site owner and if you want to know more about me please visit my personal pages at www.thedingoman.com/aboutme.html

These sites are for people over the age of 18. They ARE NOT porn sites but because my own personal webpages are about myself, friends and others I know who have lived with HIV they do contain some adult oriented material - I am posting this warning because I know there are some people out there who are still offended by gay/queer/BI men.

Thank You
Jim Thurman

Hi Jim, welcome to the forums!

First off, I need to let you know that I deleted the additional thread you started on this subject in a different forum (Off Topic). We consider multiple postings like that to be spamming the forum and I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't do it again. Thanks! ;)

I had a look around your website last night and wow, you've certainly led an adventurous life. Some of the photos you've taken are simply breathtaking. Thank you for sharing your life with us.

Please have a look at our Welcome Thread so you can know what else this website has to offer (aside from the drug interaction page! ;) ) and so you can have a look at our posting guidelines.

After reading your website, I'm looking forward to your participation in these forums. You're sure to bring a different perspective.

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts

I appreciate the comments and time you spent cruising my personal website!  Spam is spam is spam and its nasty when it comes in ice cream (I'm an old spamarama Austinite that has had it so many ways and yes they do an ice cream for it now at the annual Austin spam fest - its nasty just as multiple postings can be)....I actually wasn't sure where to post this thread so I did it in two places and appreciate you making sure it would go somewhere. I knew there was someone there who would get to making it right - THANK YOU! Oh, if it ever comes down to making a choice between the spam ice cream or the road kill to eat I'll take the damn road kill and make it palatable!

I use to distribute POZ MAG into the other clinics in Austin when it was received by the David Powell Clinic in bulk and had my own ASO newsletter prior to POZ's debut - I stopped doing Positive Threads (my newsletter was mirrored off Being Alive) after POZ MAG gained solid footing since there was no need to duplicate information. It was a welcomed break for me because I was a one man show and you know how much information comes pouring out and what's involved in sifting and disseminating that info into an easy to read format.  My focus in those years was on women and people of color since there were too many barriers to obtaining services and information. I was very happy that POZ reached out to all people. I use to help distribute A&U for Dave Waggoner when his publication came out as well.

I also been using the AIDSMEDS drug interaction since it first became available and have always referred others to it since I have found it to be a very useful tool.  Some people out there still get scripts from more than one pharmacist without giving it a 2nd thought as to the importance of knowing drug interactions.

I'm currently on one of my layovers still recuperating from kidney failure last year so I am focused on the internet for now. My recovery has been great and once I get close to where I was prior to the kidney failure I'll be back on the roads again. In the meantime I'm still keeping somewhat of a low profile but am still working at trying to bridge those barriers that keep us, as people, apart. One would think that ALL people with HIV would realize what its like to be "shunned" and through my posts on various sites I spin my posts around that issue - hoping that maybe some out there will change their way of thinking and reacting towards others. Because of my brutal honesty I am often mislabelled as being "phobic" but I take it quite well and just move on. One of the old pwa newsrags used a motto that said "together we can make a difference"  I'm still a firm believer in that. I've seen firsthand how small children who do not have "learned behaviors" have done that and you may remember how Hydia (spelling is off on that name) with HIV did that years ago. It all has to do with learned behaviours and children are probably the best role models for people living with any disease.

Anyway I need to roll on and again THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME!

send me up a link to  dingomanusa@yahoo.com    on the blogspot - blogspots are welcome provided that the link you provide to me takes readers directly to your blog - blogs are welcomed when they provide information about the person posting them - info being how that person feels and thinks - thats sharing too!

As far as that firefox thing I'm not sure what firefox is and if you're like one of my readers who spends his time emailing me about every little typo he catches on my website I'll treat you like I treat road kill that I pass by - you don't wanna know THAT......at least I know you're alive, breathing and doing something productive and THAT's what matters! THANK YOU for pointing that out to me and when I'm through breathing the fumes off my motorcycle exhaust I'll check into Firefox.....<grin>  ;)
