After coming here for over 5 years you ought to know by now that the only confirmed risks for the sexual transmission of HIV are unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse. A fleshlight is neither a vagina nor an anus.

Keep it simple. Use condoms everytime for intercourse and you will be well protected.

Hello All,

I haven't been here in a couple of years and have been coming in once in a while to see your good work and read more and get educated more on the subject as treatment and society advance on this virus. And thank you for all you do.

I do have a question and of may be silly, but we never think of things sometimes till after they happen.  But...

Two nights ago I hooked up with a man of unknown status after having dinner, and I had slightly burned my tongue from the hot food at dinner. I didn't bleed, I have good oral hygiene and I had rinsed with a mouthwash after eating.

But about an hour later I found myself making out with this guy, his tongue in my mouth and mine in his, and he gave me oral sex and rimmed me. Sorry for the graphics, but at this point I have learnt that I should be safe. But I got caught up in the moment and I gave him some oral sex for about a minute, then remembered my tongue issue, so I stopped.

My question is simple: was I at great risk from catching HIV from this and should I go to my emergency clinic for PEP since it's been 36 hours now since.  Let's assume he was poz, and like I said, I didn't know.

Maybe I'm just your one and only....OCG

No, I don't consider this to be a PEP indicated situation. Your saliva contains over a dozen elements and proteins which very effectively prevent the transmission of viable HIV. And whatever the details kissing is not a risk for HIV transmission.

Let it go and get on with your life.

I've merged your threads here because it's a rule of the site for members to use only one thread. This is the only place you should be writing.

There's no need for testing nor for further concern about this incident.

Thank you Andy,

It's just that I have a small blister on my tongue now and so the burn was kinda bad I guess.

As for the thread, I tried to add to my last one but the instructions say that if it's a new topic we should start one. I wasn't clear on that.

Oops.

Hello Forum,
Over the years you have been kind and kept me sane (somewhat!) and I thank you.

But I was faced with a situation two nights ago on Monday, when I hooked up with an acquaintance from my gym who is divorced, three kids, girlfriend jock type who swears he never had gay sex ever.  Anyhow...to make a long story short, I gave him oral and he gave me oral, and then I rimmed the guy, and so far I'm not freaking out...until.....he asked me to do him.  So he got me a condom, I opened it, put it on and I had protected anal for a good 10 minutes at least.  At this point, I'm still mentally ok....THEN....he asked to try it on me, and I have not had anal sex on me in years, so I said okay..and he went to the bathroom to get a condom, so he put it on, and he tried getting into me.

But I'm so tight that it did not go in and he kept banging against the anus a few times, until it hurt and I said I couldn't do it, to stop.  So he did.  But my question is...and by the way, he claims he's negative but you never know....

My anus felt very lubed and moist so I wiped with a tissue and saw that I was bleeding...not heavily, but bleeding on the outside of the anus.....and remember, he did not penetrate....and this is where my mind is playing tricks on me....IF he had any any point taken off that condom without me noticing what was going on back there since I was on my knees, and this happened....Then am I at risk of contracting HIV and should I rush to get PEP from the clinic?  It's  been just over 48 hours.

Again, he did not penetrate my anus, but it bled because of the pain of the attempted push in...and he had a condom...but what if he took it off at anytime and had tried while I was bleeding there?

Please help, I'm going crazy....that's why my nickname is what it is.

Thanks in advance,

OCG

Please only post in this one thread no matter how long between visits or the subject matter.  You can find this thread by going to your profile and selecting show own post and it will take you here . You have been around long enough to know that you must post in one thread, so please do not do it again .

You had protected sex and do not need pep . Please read back over you past threads as all your concerns have already been addressed .

Hey Jeff,

Appreciate your response. My concern was the bleeding on the outside of the anal canal and the possibility of exposure of the wound to his penis. And you still think it's okay?  I guess I just need reassurance.

As for my post, I swear I wanted to add to my old posts, but this forum flashed a red warning saying that it hasn't been active for 60 days and it was recommended I start a new topic. I'd never seen that before, and it went with it. So the intention was there, but why can't there be a "add a new post to previous posts" button on here?

:)
