Anal Tag
« on: August 06, 2007, 08:24:03 PM »
Hello Everyone,

I hope everyone is doing well.   I am doing okay, but I have noticed a tag on my anal area.  I am not sure what it is but do plan to visit my doctor.  I would like to know if anyone else have had such experience? Did you have your doctor take a look at it? How did he treat you? Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

I have something like that going on. They come and go but when they are here, they itch like hell. I haven't been to my doc about it because it's embarrassing to have him looking at my ass. I know it sounds stupid but that's how I feel. Funny, I don't feel this way about my gyn.... ???

I do not know exactly what you mean. Is the tag bar coded? Just kidding. It is most likely an external hemmie as they hang out when they get large. These rarely get better with no intervention, so I agree with Queenie that you should get it checked out by the butt doc. I had my internal ones banded and have gotten some relief from the pain. The itching can feel like there is a colony of worms having a 1999 celebration up there though. Queenie, get it taken care of! They will most likely refer you to a butt doc that you may not have to develop an intimate relationship with after he looks up there and does his deed. I have not seen mine since. He did me and did not even call. Can you believe that?

Take Care,
CA

Exactly. I get these( skin tags) on my neck periodically, and they are easily removed. In fact I have one now that has to be removed.  I would also get it checked out as soon as possible, and play it on the safe side.

Hello,

It resembles a fissure more so than a hemmie.  It only hurt if I am getting screwed. LOL! Seriously, if I have a hard BM then it does rub up against it and cause bleeding and a stinging sensation.  Otherwise, it is not painful.  I agree with Queen - I don't like some doctor looking up my ass.  Anyways, I do plan to get it checked out.  Thanks for your response.

Hello Everyone!

Thanks for all of your responses to my question regarding my Anal Tag.  It is a piece of skin that is attached to the anal opening.  Basically, if the anal area is slightly torn and begin to heal instead of growing back correctly - a tag is formed.  It is not painful most of the time, but it is kind of annoying because I am aware of its presence.  What type of doctor should I see? My family practitioner? My Infectious Diseases Doctor or my Gastroenterologist?  Any input you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Well probably your family practitioner is the one to see here. If it needs more expert attention then he or she can make the appropriate referral. It may well be wise to have the dratted thing excised if you're a sexually active bottom or it's interfering with your bowel movements.

It's always a good idea to have your pooper checked out by a medical type from time to time. If not for sound clinical reasons then just for a giggle. ;)

Though skin tags can grow in many places, they usually grow on the neck, torso, and groin area. They do not happen with tears in the anus. That seems to be something else. A butt doc would probably be able to enlighten you on what the best course of action would be. Do not be afraid, or shy as they are used to looking into the great beyond.

Much luck,

Yes, Matty is correct,

In my case he was also a surgeon specializing in the removal of the offending tissue. My I.D. specialist did not even dare look. But it all depends on how your care system is structured. I saw a gastrointerologist for issues with the small and large intestines and they discovered the hemmies. The surgeon banded them and voila! Now I only have the itching to deal with.

I guess I will have to see my family practitioner because there is not a proctologist listed under my insurance provider directory.

That's exactly what you should do. Your family doctor will know which specialist (if any) you need to be referred to.

Ok so whatever it is, it shouldn't be there, basically, and being a bottom you can make it worse, so get your general practitioner to look at it, then s/he can make a referral to a butt specialist if needed. Don't try to diagnose it yourself, and stop getting anal sex until this is looked at and diagnosed.
