I am not clear, are you asking about "any update", or "the update", as in something recent? Last I heard about this was when they made the announcement about a year or so about the discovery of this compound that killed hiv in vitro (so does clorox, by the way, and warm soapy water). After the stock of the company behind this jumped up many points after the announcement, I must say that, almost predictably, nothing else, not a peep, has been heard about this. Unless you heard something, that is, that's why I am asking. Cheers, J.

Just google csa54 then take a deep breath and go back to your daily routine.

I went ahead and sent an email requesting the status of this. I believe I did this before and got no reply... and I guess they weren't to keen on presenting this for peer review either. A year and a half should have been plenty time to present their findings to the scientific community, and evidently this has not been done. Oh, well. Hope I'm wrong though, of course.

p.s. also sent an email to Dr. Savage directly for good measure. Let's see if someone replies...

Someone that claims to cure AIDS without even a phase 1 proof is a scam.

My memory was that the "in vitro" tests showed that CSA54 was toxic to HIV but was tolerated by human epithelial cells, again this was "in vitro."

However, it seemed encouraging at the time because the tests involved levels of CSA54 much higher than needed to kill HIV and the epithelial cells still tolerated those levels well.

The company responsible for this drug was Ceragenix

I posted on this a while ago but don't feel like tracking it down right now so I'll summarize - I wrote to someone at Vanderbilt U in the fall who told me that the lead researcher there had left and was working somewhere in Canada (I think his name was Dr. Unmatz or something like that - I just don't have time to look it all up right now).  He said that Ceregenix had decided for the moment not to develop CSA-54 and that that it was totally in their hands.  He also mentioned thta the reports at the time were extremely hyped.

Unless something new has come out, which I doubt, follow Milker's apt advice.

As I thought...their stock jumped after the announcement, they cashed in, and it''s over.

No worries, there are plenty of bona-fide, exciting things on the horizon! J.
