Scared... and insecure...
« on: June 04, 2007, 07:14:16 AM »
Hello everyone...
I'll try to make it short, because me story is quite long. In May 06 I had a risk situacion with a sex worker (same condom in two penetrations w/o ejaculate both). After a month, I had started with every single symptom (fatigue, HEAVY night sweats that lasted 5 months, white tongue (still white, have pics if you want),  and so on, oh!.. a rash in my right leg...). I ve tested negative in the 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5 month only for HIV (method HIV1/2 4th gen). My question is, after all these symptoms, could I still be negative at 5th month mark, even if I have never tested for others STDs or HPC/B?
Can other STDs such as ghonorrea or clamidya make the window period longer?
I'm so scared, because my girlfriend, has the white tongue too, and sometimes she has a heavy back neck pain and lower back pain (backache).

Please, give me an advice...  :-\

Regards...
Nitram2

(sorry my english)

Nitram,

You were conclusively hiv negative after your three month test. In fact, you were conclusively negative after your one month test because you didn't have a risk. You used a condom, and condoms prevent hiv transmission and infection.

Other sexually transmitted infections do not change the hiv window period. Unless you are on chemotherapy for cancer, anti-rejection drugs following organ transplant, or inject street drugs every day of your life for the past several years, the window period for a conclusive negative hiv result is three months. You do not need further testing over the sex worker incident - you ARE hiv negative.

Symptoms, or even the lack of symptoms, means nothing when it comes to hiv infection. The only reliable way to know your hiv status is through testing. You would be wise to see your doctor about your symptoms - there are many other illnesses out there besides hiv.

It sounds like you are not using condoms with your girlfriend - but you should, unless she has also tested hiv negative and you are securely monogamous.

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL STIs together. To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with a sexually transmitted infection. Sex with a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through all three condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

Anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results. Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

Use condoms and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple.

You're welcome, Nitram. Keep using those condoms correctly and consistently and you'll be just fine where hiv is concerned.

Nitram,

Please do not post in threads other than your own. Our posting guidelines, which you will find in the Welcome Thread, stipulate that only Moderators and other members who are authorised to do so may reply to questions posted in this forum.

I would also suggest that you remove those picture links. They are entirely inappropriate. You should know that I have reported your post to the Moderators for review.

Nitram,

I removed your post from someone else's thread and placed it here, which is the ONLY thread you should be posting in. You've been here long enough to have read the posting guidelines by now.

I also want you to remove the links to you tongue. The ONLY person you should be showing your tongue to is your doctor. You don't have hiv - go see your doctor to find out what, if anything, is wrong with you.

You are conclusively negative. It's time you moved on with your life.

Because you breached the rules of the Forum. Which you've just done again. Stay out of other peoples' threads!

Nit,

If you'd concentrate on your own thread and your own situation, you'd know why your post was removed. I've removed your latest foray into someone else's thread too. Do it again and I'll give you a time out. This is your last chance.

Nit,

If you'd bother reading your own thread, you would have had your explanation.

It's not my fault you didn't bother reading your own thread to see my warning - or the posting guidelines for that matter - and I'm giving you the time out I warned you about less than an hour ago.

The time out will be for four weeks - if you want more information on our time out policy, read the Welcome thread like you're supposed to. Do not try to create a new account to get around your time out because if you do, you will be permanently banned, no questions asked.

Nitram,

It's a shame you never bother to read your thread. I told you on September 11th that if you attempted to create a new account to get around your time out, you would be banned permanently.

As you tried to create a new account last night (nitram2b), I am banning you permanently, as of right now.

And just as a courteous reminder, you ARE hiv negative and it's time you got on with your life.
