HIV Specialist
« on: May 03, 2007, 02:04:25 PM »

Can anyone recommend a good physician specializing in HIV?  I've spoken to a couple of doctors after I was digagnosed through a routine physical, both  doctors were dissapointing, and I'd say not qualified to deal with HIV infected people.  I'm not on meds, healthy, have never been sick in my adult life. But, I am realistic about a time coming when I may need to go on medication and I want to discuss this with a qualified MD.  A doctor in the Chicago area would be ideal, but I'll contact any source available in the U.S..Thanks.

Try to get more info on infectious disease specialists from your local ASO. They are a great place to start.

(Who knows there must be fantastic HIV care in Chicago)

My health insurance is with the VA.,Ex-military, They're ok, a little slow but I'm working with them. I'm still shopping around for a good specialist to have a serious dialog with about HIV.
