I felt that way right after my diagnosis.  Found several friends here.  But still had no one when I was sorting through all of the health care issues.  Like no one cared to listen.  So I know what you mean.  The great thing is that there are lots of people here who will listen and care!  So reach out here and you will find some support for sure.

I've never had trouble finding somebody to listen (it's hard to shut me up!), but sometimes finding somebody who has the answers is difficult.  For me, just having somebody to talk to helps, even if they can't make things better.  Somehow, hearing myself say what's bothering me (or reading it if I type it) often helps.  I hope things get better for you.  Take care.

Joseph,

Yes, I actually find this situation with my current therapist,
who I feel keep re-directing me away from the issues I want
to discuss.  I've also found that even well-meaing friends and
family members are not necessarily good listeners.  And it's darn
frustrating when you are reaching out, only to find that there's
nobody there, or they are not really paying attention.  To be fair,
I've also found that when I feel I need help, I am (knowingly or
unknowingly) also pushing people away.

What's going on, Joseph?

Milker.

He'll be OK.  I phoned him up and had a nice lil' ole chit chat and dispensed my Pearls of Holy Wisdom for 10 cents/minute.  He had a bad case of "the icks" and if you're not familiar with this issue please locate the laserdisc transfer (lovely) torrent file of the seminal 1970's gay classic "Boys in the Band" (mininova I think!)

thanks

Whoa, can I relate. Living in the great state of Utah is a challenge even when you are straight and healthy. Throw gay, HIV+ and Jewish into the mix and you have the perfect recipe for unwelcome outsider. Sorry you are having the "icks" strayboy.. you'll be ok. I promise.
