1 YEAR of being POZ....
« on: March 06, 2007, 10:08:30 PM »
This March 9, I will be celebrating my 1 year of being HIV+....

I had my blood withdrawn last March 9 of 2006 for the ELISA Test and it came out POSITIVE...then waited for more than a month for the result of the Confirmatory Test (Western Blot Test)....

I'm still kicking and fighting, though I know I'm just new in this WORLD, I am GLAD that I was able to re-organize myself in the past year....

In a week, My COLLEGE LIFE will soon to CLOSE and I will be receiving my Nursing Diploma by April...Thanks to GOD, I was able to stand up despite of all the difficulties, the pains and the pressures around me...

I became conscious with my health now, which before, I just ignored! I gained 10 lbs and I FEEL healthier than before.... :)

After class, I will be having my 2nd WORKOUT (blood figures monitoring)...I just hope it comes out as expected...well, if not...then I'll just deal with it positively...after all, I am NOT YET on ARV medication..

With my ADVOCACY on HIV/AIDS for the YOUTH here in the Philippines and by putting a FACE on HIV/AIDS in this country, I am looking forward for a DYNAMIC YOUNG MEN who battles with HIV/AIDS in the days to come....

Thanks to all the PEOPLE out there, who became my INSPIRATIONS...who gave me the STRENGTHS and the LIGHT in that 1 year of DARKNESS...

TRULY, being an HIV+ is somehow a BLESSING....

God bless... ;)

P.S. Thanks to POZ.com, I've known some GREAT people through this site...and I know, I am NOT alone... :-*

Congrats on your one year anniversary.  Even better congrats on your positive outlook.  It really does help.  Good luck on your advocacy and keep us posted.

I just 'celebrated' my first year of my POZ® diagnosis too -  the first of many for both of us, I'm sure.

I love that great attitude. I can't believe how fast your first year went! I must say I'm proud of the way you have dealt with all of these HIV/AIDS issues. You will live one hell of a long time, I'm certain of that!

Keep up the great work!!

Hey, we need both your attitude and your nursing skills on Cape Cod.  We are hiring... and just in time for our famous Spring/Summer/Fall weather.  We'll even bring other aidsmeds.com forum members to meet you. :)  Best, Win

Hey Nurse Young,

Congrats on making it through you first year of being HIV+ AND nursing school too. You've got a great attitude. Lucky will be the patients who come under your care.

March 9 is also a personally memorable day for me and I'm happy that we can share it.

I'm very glad you have found comfort and support here.

Cheers,
Andy Velez

Congratulations on your nursing degree, and that wonderful outlook.  We have chatted on several of the other boards, I am glad that you found the support that you needed to make it through that first year.  You rock.......  Good luck on your exam, and good luck on your life, you are truly an inspiration.......
