Yesterday was a rough ride for me, as I had to let go of my dogie friend Sasha.

She was quite the trooper and fought endlessly. She was a kind, a giver and full of Love. She never failed me.

Most importantly, she was my ears.

I shall miss her very much and I do already.

So long my dear friend Sasha (SEP13, 1989- Mar07, 2007)

Alain :(

Dear Alain,

I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved dog.   May she rest in peace.   She'll be waiting for you, you know......

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Thank you all for your kind words and for taking the time. It means a lot to me.

It never get easier when that time comes, but I have no doubts and in some ways I am relieved that the girls are back together.

Sophie, her sister died on January 18, 2004. They were the best of friends.

I might apply for a hearing working dog. They are trained for any sounds like the front door, telephone TTY, kitchen timer and alarm clock. Most important they jump on you when sleeping should they hear smoke or carbon monoxide detector.

The dogs that are trained by the agency are Border Collies, Golden Retriever, German Shepperd, Poodles and some Terriers. There is a waiting list but because of my age and the fact that I became totally deaf late in my life, I get sort of a priority. We will see and I let you guys know.

The Girls together.

Alain,
I am so sorry for your loss. Sophie and Sasha are together, playing in beautiful fields. They were both very lucky to have a doggy daddy who loved them so.
