cunnilingus risk
« on: December 30, 2011, 08:40:15 pm »
Hi, i am a new member from Malaysia, sorry my my poor english. First of all, i would to thank all of you for great effort, its help a lot of people. Here is my question.

I recently have sex with a sex worker, is my first time, i use condom for viginal sex, but no protection for cunnilingus and getting blow job. I know you guys will say no risk for oral sex.

But In your "Welcome" it states, and I quote, "However, there have been case reports highlighting one case of female-to-female transmission of HIV via cunnilingus and another case of female-to-male transmission of HIV via cunnilingus. Both of these cases involved transmission from receptive partner (the one receiving oral sex) to the insertive partner (the one performing oral sex). There haven't been any documented cases of HIV transmission from the insertive partner to the receptive partner."

My questions are

1) Are the 2 cases confirm documented cases (conclusive case), how it can happen? Ann, Rapidrod and Andy have mention many time no risk on go down on woman, but if there is already have document case happen before, how can we still say is no risk?

2) If the 2 cases are not conclusive cases, should it be remove from the "Welcome Thread"?

3) Should it worry about it? and go for HIV 3 months test?

4) If there is open sores or lesions in my or her mouth, will it change the risk status?

5) Do you encounter people having protect viginal sex (with condom) but still infected?

I know there is NO RISK for receiving oral sex, now my question is perform oral sex making my worry and confuse.

according to jkinatl2, "No one in the history of the pandemic has been documented to have been infected through cunnilingus. This is why there are virtually ZERO lesbians infected with HIV" is that true?

Please help, appreciate a reply, many thanks.

At no time were you ever at risk of contracting HIV by cunnilingus.

James, anytime you have sex other than with your own hand, there is the possibility of infection. But we know from long experience and from science that HIV transmission sexually is about unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse.

Longterm studies of sero-discordant couples have been conducted. They had lots of mutual unprotected oral sex and only protected vaginal/anal intercourse. To date not a single sero-negative partner has become infected.

You do the math. You are worrying needlessly. Continue to use condoms for intercourse consistently and you will be well protected.

No, rimming is not a risk for HIV transmission. Open sores or lesions in the mouth of the other person are also not a risk for HIV transmission.

Keep it simple, James. Sexual transmission of HIV is about unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse. Use condoms consistently for those activities and you will be well protected.

Hi, i am 40 years old male, sorry my my poor english. First of all, i would to thanks all of you for great effort, its help a lot of people. Here is my question.

I am single, regular have sex with a sex worker, i always use condom for viginal sex (no exception), but no protection for cunnilingus and getting blow job also i involve in foot fetish (sucking her toes) deep kissing and fingering (she finger my anus). I know you guys will say no risk for oral sex, kissing, toe sucking and being fingered. That why i always think i should worryless until yesterday CDC announced that a confirm case of HIV transmmission between female to female bacause both HIV virus is 98% identical, and possible the transmission occur via oral sex and sharing sex toy or even mutual masterburtion.

My questions are

1) Are the case confirm?(conclusive case), how it can happen? Ann, Rapidrod and Andy have mention many time no risk on go down on woman, but if there is already have document case happen, how can we still say is no risk?

2) If there is open sores or lesions in my or her mouth during oral sex, will it change the risk status?

3) If her toe / foot got cut or sores and i lick and suck it, am i in risk?

4) If her finger got cut or got viginal fluid or menstrual blood while she fingered my anus, am i in risk?

5) Should it worry about it? and go for HIV 3 months test?

according to jkinatl2, "No one in the history of the pandemic has been documented to have been infected through cunnilingus. This is why there are virtually ZERO lesbians infected with HIV" is that still true?

Where did you see that it was confirmed had you read the actual article which happened in 2012 you would have seen it wasn't confirmed.

James,

I've merged your new thread into your original thread - where you should post all your additional thoughts or questions. It helps us to help you when you keep everything in one thread. It doesn't matter how long it has been since you last posted in your thread or if the subject matter is different.

If you need help finding your thread when you come here, click on the "Show own posts" link under your name in the left-hand column of any forum page.

Please also read through the Welcome Thread so you can familiarize yourself with our Forum Posting Guidelines. Thank you for your cooperation.

That case has NOT been 100% confirmed and I have very serious doubts about the whole thing. Even if it is true, one single case in over 30 years does not change my mind about anything I've ever written about cunnilingus and hiv.

At the end of the day, if you cannot bring yourself to believe us when we tell you that you have not been at risk during any of the activities you chose to engage in with sex workers, (protected intercourse, oral sex, toe-sucking, fingering or being fingered) go test and collect your negative result.

As a sexually active adult you should be having regular, routine sexual health check ups anyway. If you've never had a complete sexual health check up, then it's high time you did.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

Anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Hi Ann,
The only home test kit available in my country is call EZ TRUST from NEXUS LAB. Is this rapid home test kit reliable?

James,

We only recommend FDA approved home tests here - and "EZ Trust" is NOT one of them.

Just go to a doctor or sexual health clinic and get it over with. Once again, as a sexually active adult you should be having regular COMPLETE sexual health check ups at LEAST once a year. You cannot get a COMPLETE  sexual health check up in a home testing kit.

And let me remind you that you have NOT been at risk for hiv infection, unless you've been engaging in unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse - with anyone, not just sex workers - that you've neglected to mention.
