She was a special guest at a Susan G. Komen Foundation luncheon in Austin about six months ago or so. Santi's neighbor was there as she's in a unique situation--her mother and her 2 sisters all have cancer at the same time. She got to sit with Rue for lunch and said Rue was a hoot...just a fun Southern gal...RIP Rue. Thanks for the laughs!

This was my favorite sitcom and I use to get all stupid with my friends on Saturday night...no we can't do this or that until after the show. Yup, there were four of us, and I of course tried to role model Blanche, fortunately for her she was more intelligent, but I loved her style; screw them and screw everything in sight! Fortunately for me, there still is two of us left to share those thoughts, laughter and how we hooted, and stupidity!

Meech thanks for those clips, I have never seen those shows before.

I always liked the Golden Girls show even if it was a guilty pleasure at the time .

I attended a benefit banquet once along with Estell Getty and she shared some of her favorite personal stories with us about her time with the Golden Girls . Far from playing the star that evening she seemed generally more intrested having pictures of us gay boys in our tux's to share with her friends .

Everytime I hear someone speak of the show it reminds me of my mother.  She loved the show.  I cared for her the last 5 months of her life and we watched it everyday.

Blanche reminded me of my moms.. :(

Very Sad...  Rasheen liked The Golden Girls a lot; she said the show made her laugh for the first time after her diagnosis.

Wonder if they all knew how happy they made their viewers.

Scene from GG where "Rose" (Betty White) asks, "What happens when there's only one of us left?"  Strange how it worked out that way.

You can skip to the 3 min mark.

Am I the only gay person that never watched this show?

Hardly.
When it was popular I didn't have a TV and rarely watched it, though a few gay buddies loved it. Later I realised I missed something really funny and saw quite a bit of it an liked it.

The "Golden Girls" was the Gayest show on TV in the 90's.  The writing simply put, was divine.  The only thing gayer may have been "Will and Grace,"  or "Sex in the City." RIPs my dears.  You shall live on IN OUR HEARTS FOREVER.
