Pos/Neg Relationships-Children possible?
« on: August 23, 2008, 12:39:39 pm »
Hi, I'm just wondering about a question I have had for a while. I just found out that my mom's former co-worker is + while his partner is neg. I know it's possible for a woman(+) to have a neg baby, but how does that work with the guy? They're young(29 yrs of age), and his partner always talked about having children(even before she knew his status and still does) so how does that work with + guy and - woman?

It is still possible.  It is pricey, but they can go through sperm washing.  Something that is defenitly not what you would want to jump into.  They should talk to their PCP and OB/GYN.  Also take the time to discuss the future with each other.  But theere is possibilities.

Yes, it absolutely is possible for the couple to have children safely. Check out these articles as a starting place.

You can also surf the web looking under HIV and sero-discordant parents/couples.
