Winter Olympics.
« on: February 10, 2014, 07:11:03 pm »
Thought we might want to start a thread now that it's here. I know many scattered comments have been made in other threads but there is so much fun and sad news that needs to be shared.

I thought this was great. Not sure of the source but maybe someone here can confirm this:

I loved Buddy on Colbert.  He needs his own show, or Colbert needs to use him more.

I did not like the NBC Sports reporter pushing Bode Miller to become emotional, over the loss of his brother.  After her first couple questions didn't get tears last night, she kept on and on.  She wouldn't stop, until she got him to cry and break down.  When he got down on his knees, a fellow athlete came to console him.  Apparently, that friend was in the way of the camera, and it appeared a production assistant told the friend to move out of the way of the camera.  They wanted that shot.

Matt Lauer spoke with Bode this morning and discussed how that reporter was being criticized.  Bode said he didn't think she meant anything by it and there was no ill feelings.

We get Canadian tv  here ( being so close to Canada,  does everyone have Canadian tv?)  anyway the Canadian coverage of the Olympics is so completely different than US.   They actually show an entire competition from beginning to end.   Kinda neat,  plus you don't need to look at Bob Costas'  pink eye.
Don't be fancy, just get dancey

Maybe he is just showing solidarity with the lgbt community.  :)

He was on Access Hollywood, going fishing with Billy Bush in Sochi.  I thought he was funny, going fishing all dressed up.  I didn't like the mink fur coat, for obvious reasons.  Aren't those so 80's anyway?  He brought along a suitcase-worth of jewelry.

Buddy Cole made it to Russia.  In the first clip, he's looking for the protest zones.  You'll see how hard they are to find and how fast he's run off.  If you can find the protest zone, you cannot really protest.

In the second clip, he visits a gay bar.
