Tearful Osbourne reveals family member has HIV
Last Updated: Tuesday, February 20, 2007 | 10:31 AM ET
CBC Arts
Reality show star Kelly Osbourne has set London buzzing with a weekend revelation that a member of her family is HIV-positive.

Osbourne, the 22-year-old daughter of heavy metal icon Ozzy Osbourne, disclosed the news Sunday night at a north London benefit for HIV-related charity Body & Soul.

As she introduced a performance by pop-dance act Scissor Sisters, an emotional Osbourne said the cause was special to her because a member of her family had been diagnosed with the disease. Some witnesses reported that the sometime singer and actress was crying as she left the stage.

She has since declined to release any further comment.

In addition to her father Ozzy and mother Sharon, Osbourne's immediate family includes her sister Aimee, brother Jack, half-sister Jessica and half-brother Louis (both from Ozzy Osbourne's first marriage).

Osbourne rose to fame for her part in the MTV reality show The Osbournes, which debuted in 2002 and chronicled the home life of her musical family.

Her family has had its share of medical struggles in recent years, including Sharon's battle with colon cancer, Jack's stint in rehab for oxycodone addiction and, in 2003, Ozzy Osbourne's serious all-terrain vehicle accident in which he broke his collarbone, as well as several ribs and neck vertebrae.

Infected: April 2005

Matty the Damned loves these "I feel your pain" type announcements from pointless people like Kelly Osbourne.

I propose we play Rush to Judgement about the Poz Osbourne. Who can guess the:

1. Gender
2. Age
3. Sexual orientation
4. Mode of transmission

of the celebrity relative in question?

It makes me so sad to see that this is yet another attempt by kelly osbourne to rekindle her career.

How low can you sink??

I actually know who she is talking about. I go to the same hospital as this person in the uk and i've seen this person on a couple of occasions.

Its not up to kelly to force a member of her family to disclose.

It's just disgusting!

NB. Any advice about HIV is given in addition to your own medical advice and not intended to replace it. You should never make clinical decisions based on what anyone says on the internet but rather check with your ID doctor first. Discussions from the internet are just that - Discussions. They may give you food for thought, but they should not direct you to do anything but fuel discussion.

It made all the headlines in UK, taking away from the fact it was a brilliant gig, raising money for body&soul. She's a bitch. She had no right. Watch the gutter press for the next installment of the osbourne show...I wish they would leave whoever it is alone but that ain't gonna happen. I repeat, bitch.
I know i'm going to enjoy the party in the afterlife, but do you all mind that I'm going to be VERY late!!!

I care about this as much as whats her name that lately shaved her head, or whats her name that was found dead, that one that once married that old guy.

Just another epsiode for the tv show "LIFESTYLES OF THE RICH AND F*CKED UP".

I bet next years geriatric heavy metal tour will be "PozFest"....

As far as the Poz Oz...it sure ain't that ugly brother.....who'd sleep with him???? Maybe some homeless person might share a dirty needle with him...but I sure wouldn't share my "dirty needle" with him....

Since I haven't seen anyone post it yet, let the Queen be the first to do so....I think it could be the Oz man himself. Hell, he has done some crazy shit back in the day and prolly still does behind closed doors...Just saying...

I gave it to him for xmas last year.  Im a giver what can I say.  Give Give Give.  Its what I do.  Its who I am really.  Like the Breast Implant Clinic, I "consult" down there three days a week whether they need me or not.
