A Fish Out Of Water
« on: January 03, 2007, 03:26:04 am »
Hey Everyone,

I've been lurking on this forum for quite some time now and I have now decided to join. Let me firstly say that I am a fish out of water here because I am NOT HIV positive nor likely to be. I'm fact, I'm 29 and in perfect health. I find this a very uplifting message board to read because of the quality of the support and wisdom posted on here from all of you. I really like reading about the support that you all offer to each other and I really respect the fact that everybody here lives life to the fullest despite adversity. You people are truly an inspiration to all of us out here who are in good health and often take our own lives for granted. Up until I found this message board, I have never met such a nice bunch of people as you lot.

Even though I cannot relate to you all because I am HIV negative, I am still hoping and looking forward to making friends with some of you and learn about life.

Kudos to all for a great message board.

Welcome to the forums, Adonis!!  Everyone here is very uplifting and supportive of each other.

Out of curiosity, how did you find the forums here?  It's nice to see a fresh face such as yours.

Adonis,

I've moved your thread to the Off Topic forum. The Living with forum is for people who are actually hiv positive, or who have a close relationship with someone who is.

IzPoz:

Thank you for the warm welcome.

I found the forum because I was interested to read up on HIV/AIDS to better educate myself. Although I am not HIV positive, I still wanted to learn about it.

I found this board and I have been lurking here for about 3 weeks before I had the courage to join. I have never met a bunch of nice people.

  Adonis,

I second what everyone else has said commending you for educating yourself about HIV.   As long as you play safe this is something you should never have to worry about, this site is great and the people here are too.

Welcome to the forums and keep in mind the living with forum is for people with HIV, we do lurk in the off topic as you will see and I think you will find some of those threads both quite amusing and informative.

Hey Adonis---the grateful welcome goes for me too.  I'm active with a couple of GLBTI political/social action organizations and it always feels great to partner with straight folks.  Its the same way on this forum.  It just touches my heart---like getting a big hug from a straight guy.  ;D       Rick

Rick and Thomas:

Thank you for the warm welcome.......

I'm thrilled to be a part of this posting community as I find the content of this board very insightful and uplifting. You people are an inspiration to he rest of us out there who take our lives and health for granted. I notice that you all tend to cut to the chase and sort out what is important and what is not. I really respect that.
