Yep you can, you cannot transmit HIV to animals.

Hi David, this is ridiculous you can feed dogs, you can feed babies ... You can do what ever you want but sex without condoms  ;)

feed your dog, no reason to involve anyone else in that decision. there is no risk for you or your dog by feeding it.

Anyone who suggests that people living with hiv cannot own, live with or interact with animals is suggesting ideas that are 20 or more years out of date.

Provided you follow good hygiene rules that anyone should follow, you'll be just fine. The number one thing you need to do is wash your hands after you clean up after any "accidents" the animal may have. You should also always wash your hands after cleaning litter trays for cats or cleaning out cages/aquariums for smaller pets that require such homes.

It's actually beneficial for people with hiv to have pets. The unconditional love, affection and companionship we get from them is priceless. I know I would never be without my cats.

OMG, I would DIE without my three dogs!, I get my hugs and kisses form my happy pups. i feed them, kiss them, cuddle them, and quite often I get a big sneeze in my face from them. ;D obviously I do wash my face with soap after that!
anyway, Pets are beneficial to my health..and Im definatly beneficial to theirs too!
Dont neglect you pet because of your Hiv or whatever people say...Pets give you LIFE and you give a good life to them too. ;)

Glad you are here in the forums!   Feed your dog, by all means!  Pet the dog.  Hang out with the dog!  Play with the dog!

But, like Ann said, anyone telling you differently is dealing with very old ideas and information about this disease.  Just wash up after cleaning up after the dog!

This idea shows me that we have a long way to go in educating others about this disease.
