Back from doctor...
Shot in my ass (ouch!)
5 day course of Zithromycin
Doc said she thinks we caught it in time as the nasty little flu bug and its associated symptoms were settling comfortably into my lungs and on the verge of pneumonia.

So, have to watch for any difficulty breathing, spikes in temperature... and if these occur, head to ER....

Hopefully, the antibiotics will handle it.....
Just getting a lot of rest and liquids.

At least the fever has come down.

Will: Hope you are feeling better. Make sure you get to doc if it doesn't start clearing up - My doc says this year's flu is hitting earlier and harder and she is seeing more and more people developing pneumonia after having it.

I have given up on saying that I am 'starting to feel better' because everytime I say that, a few hours later I feel like shit again...

Woke up several times last night with fever - then would wake up drenched with sweat from fever breaking...

Still have the nasty cough --- trying my best to stay hydrated - but that is difficult - when nothing tastes good... I don't even have an appetite.

Still at the risk of regretting saying it in a few hours... I do think that I am starting to feel better.

This year's flu is a mean mofo...
I need to be over it, as I am leaving next Friday for journey to Ocala - then leaving Ocala on Saturday of next week to drive to Pennsylvania for the holidays.

Still have the nasty cough ---

Are you still taking your Mucinex? I find Mucinex DM the best for coughs, it's a must have.

No, the reason you don't have a boyfriend is manifold. But primarily it's because no 19 year old is interested in your saggy tits.

Yep - Mucinex, Advil, juice, chicken noodle soup (when I can stomach it).... Fever goes away for a few hours then comes right back - but at least it isn't shooting up like it was the other day.

Boss has already given permission for me to phone in for an important meeting on Monday if I am not up to going into the office - but I am going to try to make it in, as I feel completely out of sorts having missed three days already. Today definitely would have been a "no go" in terms of work. I have to try to get some school work done this evening or at least tomorrow.

I did shave today  ;D   I was beginning to look like Grizzley Adams, as I had not shaven since Tuesday.  Time for my next dose of Mucinex and some juice.

I woke up with the flu this morning too.  Head hurting, slight tummy ache, and excessive need for coffee.  After a couple of mugs, I had an aha moment.  I had the temporary zin flu.

Nurse! Nurse!

Does anyone know what the max amount of Acetaminiphin is in a day, everything Im taking has some in it, the Nyquil, Advil, Goody's.

I guess all this should go ahead and "do in" my mediocre kidneys.

Actually I guess the Advil ahs only Ibuprofen, so can I take Ibuprofen, Aceta and Aspirain all together.

It's 4grams..so 2 (500mg tabs) x 4 doses but you can rotate tylenol and advil/motrin every 4-6 hrs

Interesting link here
http://hivinsite.ucsf.edu/InSite?page=kb-03-01-08#S4.4X

especially the chapter named:
Effect of Vaccines on HIV Disease Progression

They make a point about flu vaccine transiently increasing HIV RNA (aka VL)

Hope this helps

No, they do not!  They say some studies show this, some do not.  They DO say there is is increased hospitalization for HIVpoz who get the actual flu though.

Stop trying to scare folks off with half truths
