I will grab the #100 spot with some good news. WE LOVE DOCTOR DANIEL!  It's about stinkin' time, too.  He listened to everything that I said, asked very intelligent questions, did NOT have a god complex, and did not treat me like some half-witted idiot.  Mini's tempanogram and hearing test were both normal which indicated no residual effects from the infections.  Her eardrums showed no infection and were pretty and healthy.

HOWEVER (there's always a "however" in my life :-\), to address the headaches and dizziness, he did some prelim testing for vertigo.  He's not sure if she has it or not and ordered a VNC on the 17th.  Basically, they'll put hot and cold water in her ear, then make her dizzy.  This goes on for 90 minutes.  I was warned not to give her anything heavy for breakfast (test is at 9) because she may have projectile vomitting. Yee-ha!  The test will measure her vestibular system and check for "room-spinning" vertigo.  We'll go back and see Dr. D the 18th for the results.

Her nasal passages were swollen so we have 2 sample bottles of Aspepro spray to use 2x/day until we see him again.  He'll check her nose and if it's helping, he'll write her a prescription.

That's all I have to report.  I'm exhausted.  I put together a lasagna before I left so Hubby just had to pop it in the oven.  I've now got double fudge brownies in the oven for dessert.  I'm ready to call it a week.

Much love to you all!

queen - we're where Jeff hardy got his ass exploded with fireworks while on the ropes doing his entrance thing. who's trying to kill him? Edge? i wouldnt put it past him..

camms - sorry u feel so lousy about the ex. time heals all wounds babe

mum - enjoy the sun. i bet the appointment with "Daniel" will be interesting, do let us know what happens.

betty - good luck with the support group.  i guess you have to bribe them or something to get them to come :)  maybe organise fun women stuff to do. when i think 'support group" i see a bunch of people sitting around telling sad stories. i think  i may have stuck with the one i attended a couple of times if there was other interesting stuff to do after the talking. Kind of like a fun club thing for pozzies, u know....?

christy - i've given up hope of keeping up with our money. if we hadnt cut off zeros ever, we would be dealing with $ sextillion, and i dont even know much that is. i guess its the best thing to do in the circumstance.  thing is virtually everything is paid in either US$ or south african rand so our own currency isnt being used much. people were actually declining to accept it. most of the shops are now in foreign currency and prices seem to be coming down a bit coz of the flood of goods. Even the public transport is paid in forex 50cents a ride. bread is still $1 a loaf. How much is it there?

nothing much happening here, still reeliing from the expenses i incurred with the moving. if i hadnt managed to save a bit last month i'd be in it for sure.  i miss mr out of town, he wants to come over the weekend but he is broke (as usual) and cant afford the busfare. sucks. i hope his boss fnd something to come here for and he can get free transport. oh well.

Morning ladies,

Mum, I'm so glad things went well with the new ENT.  That test Min has to take sounds awful; I hope it helps her.  I hate taking medical tests that make me uncomfortable.  You know, with used cars, they have that diagnostic machine the mechanics hook cars up to to find out what's wrong with them.  They really need to make one for humans.

Tendai, in the very early 90's, I used to go to a women's support group that was very well attended.  Of course, back then, things were different.  We hung onto each other like glue, since we never knew if we'd see each other again.  Most of the women who went are dead now.  Anyway, I hope this one's well attended and that people get what they need.  I"ll probably just listen, unless someone asks me something.

It's only 3F degrees right now, but it's supposed to get up to 25F today.  By the weekend, they're saying 40's.  I'll believe that when I see it.

Last year in September, I applied for a scholarship for the YMCA, and got one, so I was told to only pay $15/month.  Of course, I never went back.  Well, last week a lady from there called and asked me when I was going to activate my membership.  I thought, "oh great, busted."  So, I went yesterday, paid them and got a tour.  I guess that means I'm going to have to use it.  Monday I'm supposed to have an orientation, where a guy shows me how to use the equipment properly, and is going to try to help me decide on what to do, how many etc.  I can't do any jumping around or use machines where my legs are in motion, because of my knees.  My orthopedist told me if I wanted to do anything cardiovascular to get in the swimming pool (he said you can't injure a joint in the water).  So, I'll see how it goes and maybe take a water aerobics course eventually (if I get brave enough to wear a bathing suit).  Anyway, that's going to be my new venture.  I'm also going to talk to a dietician next Friday (Medicare pays for this) to help me formulate a healthy diet, learn portion control etc.  I gained 10 lbs over the holidays, and I really need to get rid of it plus about 20 more (lbs).

I went to see Frost/Nixon yesterday.  It was a great movie.  Frank Langella did a terrific job.  Then I had class last night.  It was alright I suppose.  Tonight is the dreaded Biology.  My therapist comes over today.  I hope you ladies have a good day.

Betty-  It's great that you have the ability to go to the YMCA. It's a great facility and offer a lot, as far as, classes and equipment.   I was going there with my ex.  He added me as member but I'm opting out for the future.  I am currently looking into a new gym that I can afford.

Tendai-  I hear you regarding moving expenses.  I just moved and it was costly from renting a 18 footer, dinner for the guys who helped, and then the a month in a half of rent for a deposit.  Plus, all the extra stuff when you move into a new place.

Mum-- Sounds like Dr Daniel is what you're needing...especially the fact that he listens and responds.

Went to the "couch lady" shrink for the first time in 4 years.  She remembered me and told me things verbatiim about my life.  That's impressive considering she no longer had my file.  She's a brilliant Indian woman whose advice is insightful and useful.  I've gone to other psychiatrist who listen and nod with no reactions whatsoever.  I might as well be talking to my dog and cat....I at least know they're listening, perhaps not understanding but still listening.

Saw Slum dog last night.  Great film.  Nice concept and visually dynamic.

Ladies be well today :)

Hugs,

Cammie

Not much really going on with me. Yesterday must've been about the retrograde because both my sister and my best friend had it out with their sons. I listened to both bitch but knew how they felt. This generation of kids is really messed up, that's for sure. Not all but most of them.

I am just sitting here listening to music. I called my sister ahead of time to let her know. Though I did have to put Lucifer in his room so I could close the door and he could get to his food and litterbox. I am really feeling lazy and not in the mood to do anything. Yesterday I went to see my ID doc, prolly one of my worst visits ever. I guess my sugar is out of whack even though I am still taking my shot and pills. But I have looked for a new PCP doctor, now I am waiting to see if they accept me. My cd4 took a swan dive too, the numbers are alright. But it is to be expected since I stopped taking my meds for a few months. I stopped them because that was around the holidays and I was concerned with the Sustiva aggravating things. So, next month I am going to go back on my meds. I just need a break......

Tendai---Then you are really behind a few weeks I think. So, I am not going to say anything, I don't want to give it away...

Betty--- I was trying to get one of those scholarships to the Y awhile back. I am not going to say when I am gonna get my ass there. Every time I do, it never happens.

Someone needs to step up and start a new thread.....

Good day Ladies :)

I have not been around for some time. I will not try to catch up, probably will not be able to.
How are you all keepin’
All is well from my side

Minismom – I am ecstatic Mini found a doctor that is willing to listen and be patient. I changed my 1st doctor because of unfriendliness and unwillingness to listen.
Give Mini a hug from Aunt Happy

Betty – I am glad I am not the only one who is studying. When people hear that you are POZ and studying they kinda think you are mad, because to them you are sentenced to death. Good luck with your weight loss goal.

Queen T - Your numbers are better than mine my cd4 count at last count was 480 and my viral load at last check was 30990
I am not on Meds yet

All – Yes we can

With love Happy

Good morning to all my sweeties!  It's Friday and we've made it!

Happy, I'm excited that we found an ENT that hasn't lost his mind, but we're still struggling with Mini's PID (pediatric infectious disease doctor).  She's completely lost her mind and switching, at this moment, isn't an option we have - but we're still trying.  We go back and see her on 3/6 (after seeing the lipid doctor on 3/3).

I went to Health Access yesterday and got an application.  Hubby is getting all the paperwork together (pay stubs, copies of our bank account, my DHHR rejection letter, ect.) so I can turn it all in today.  They were really nice and the facility is beautiful - not what I expected.  I mentioned that I have an ostomy, and the receptionist gave me some of my ostomy supplies - FOR FREE - and I haven't even been accepted there yet.  She just handed me 2 huge bags of supplies and told me to take whatever I needed.  It saved me a bunch of $$.

We're taking the kids to see "Paul Blart" today.  I read a bunch of reviews to find out why it got its PG rating.  From what I've read, there's no language and no sexual content.  It's mainly the thematic aspects - whatever that means.  Here, if you go to the 1st showing of the day, it's only $4. They don't make us pay for #6 because of her hearing loss.  So, we'll be cutting out of school early and having lunch at the mall before the movie.  It's cheaper to feed them lunch than it is to buy them popcorn - go figure.

Except for the usual (including the bottom half of my laundry mountain), nothing else going on.  It's supposed to be sunny and warmer (40F) with no snow for the next 7 days.  I'm danged giddy ;D

Have a wonderful Friday and a spectacular weekend!
Much love stretching to all 4 corners :-*

Morning ladies,

I wonder where Andrea has been?  She usually posts every day.

Camms, you're seeing a regular psychiatrist?  I know, usually they don't talk.  One of my friends just saw one (the 1st one she's seen since moving back here from another city) and she said the appointment lasted for an hour.  I was shocked.  All appointments with the psychiatrists I've had (except the one that had me strung out on all that medication), lasted about 5 minutes.  You'd think they would give a person as much time as a regular medical doctor does.  And yeah, my cat looks at me when I'm talking to her and sometimes even meows at me.

Queen, believe me, the only reason I activated the membership was because a lady from the Y called me.  That's what it usually takes to get me to exercise-some outside pressure.  Good luck with restarting your meds.  About kids today....things are so much different than when I was being brought up.  We never had electronic stuff.  My mum played games with me, stuff like that.  I'm not saying I was a gem, of course, because I was strung when I was 15, so.... but I started taking drugs mostly because other kids made fun of me (my family was on the very low end of middle class).  I went to private schools, and the other kids (most of them) all came from wealthy families.  I remember one of my friend's fathers bought her a car when she turned 16.  A brand new one, not a used one.  Anyway, I didn't mean to start rambling. Of course I continued to use drugs because of being an addict.  And, neighbors used to look out for the neighborhood kids.  If we did something bad, they would call our parents and tell them, so we would get in trouble.  Nowadays if you say something to the kid's parents, the mom usually tells you to mind your own business.

Happy, what are you studying in school?

Mum, let me know how you liked that movie.  My granddaughter wants to go see it.  I can believe it's cheaper to feed the kids lunch than popcorn.  I got some popcorn when I went to see Frost/Nixon, a small one, and it cost $4.75.  It's supposed to be 39F here today and into the 40's this weekend.  Wouldn't it be nice if this was the end of winter?

Tuesday I have to get a test done to my heart.  They're going to inject something into me that's going to cause my heart to start racing, as if I were taking the test on a treadmill (but I'm not going to be).  Then, they're going to take an echocardiogram (like an ultrasound) of my heart while it's racing.  My doctor told me my heartbeat is way off.  I tried to tell him it's because of my two valves that are prolapsed, and he went on and on about how I have several risk factors for heart disease.  I then tried to plead my case about starting to exercise, and going on a good diet to try to lose the extra fat.  But, he wasn't having it.  He said he especially wanted to know if I was going to start exercising.  I think the medical profession just likes to torture people.  So, anyway, that test is going to be Tuesday morning at 8:00 a.m.  My case manager from the ASO is going to take me.  Oh, my doctor also told me that when they inject the stuff in, it makes the person feel like they pee'd their pants.  Fun....

I'm probably going to work on a report today that's going to be due next week in my Biology class (we just found out about it last night).  Once again, the professor only gave us a 10 minute break, and kept us the whole 4 hours.  He's a nice man, and I know it's because he really loves what he does that he goes on and on, but geesh.

Well ladies, I'm going to eat breakfast and take a shower.  You ladies have a good day.

Good day ladies-

Bt-  I've had so many tests on my heart from the injection to the halter test.  I had mitral valve prolapse from Phen Phen that I took back when I was working as a  nanny for a doctor.  She gave them to me because they gave me a lot of energy and it was a good to keep me at her beck and call. Totally effed up huh? Well, it was bad enough, stage two that I had to get antibiotics everytime I went to the dentist.  I started taking CQ10 and it reversed the mitral valve. When I first started taking the supplement my cardiologist told me I was wasting my money.  After he saw the results he quickly changed the subject.   I'm sorry for going on and on I wanted to just let you know that I've been there with all the tests and wish you well.  I don't even recommend it to other people because it is expensive and what works for one person doesn't necessarily work for another.

Mum- you are just the busiest women from doctors to movies to whipping up a meal for a football team.  Where do you get the energy?  How was the movies?

Queen-  what's going on with meds?  was the drug holiday something that you decided or something your doctor incouraged.

A shout out to you all, tendai, christy, winn, happy and anyone i'm missing.  Where's drag been?

Have a great day,

Camms
