Title: new labs, kind of annoying
Post by: texaninnyc87 on June 10, 2013, 12:53:10 pm
i guess its not really bad but i guess i was hoping my cd4 count would keep going up, it almost doubled at my last check up (since i was diagnosed) so i was kind of hoping for it to be over 500, instead it dropped from 510 to 350. my percentage increased from 29% to 31% which i know is what really matters. I did come down with a nasty virus like a day after i got my blood drawn, so im thinking that perhaps my body had already begun trying to fight that and that could account for my low cd4s. all my other labs came back in optimal zones, but no surprise there.

i always hate the scale at my doctors, but today it said i weighed 151 which is 14 pounds less than it said in december! that was one nice thing about this dr visit lol

hoping my cd4 count would keep going up

It's got to go down at some point, if it kept going up forever that would be bad.

Again this is why there is a push to reduce the number of cd4 count blood draws to once a year or less.  It can needlessly create worry.

Does this change anything?

Modified to add: congrats on the weight loss! That's awesome

i already pretty much know my worrying is stupid, but i cant help it! the once a year check does sound goos, but im still in my first year of treatment, so i doubt that would really apply in my situation even if it were already standard.
