Title: Pre-workout and haart
Post by: hivtalian on January 25, 2014, 12:43:44 pm
Hi everyone,
I just started haart with TRUVADA-PREZISTA-NORVIR-ISENTRESS, without any bad acute side effect, fortunately, except a small rash disappeared in few days witha n antiistamine.

Been working out for years, and gym is part of my life. After a very bad month after having been diagnosed in acute phase I started my workouts again, and I was wondering if with my therapy I can go on taking my usual preworkouts (mostly NO-XPLODE or similar) without them interfering with the action of my pills.

I'm pretty feared about taking something potentially harmful for my health.

Can anyone with my therapy, some gym rat maybe (LOL) help me?

Thank you guys!

I googled NO-XPLODE and looked at the ingredient list - and there's nothing in it that would cause problems with your hiv meds. :)

One supplement that can interfere with hiv meds is St John's Wort, which some people take for depression. Also enchinacea (taken to prevent colds) shouldn't be taken by anyone with hiv, on meds or not.

You should always tell your doctor if you're taking any supplements so the information can be put in your chart. It just gives them a better picture concerning your health, and more information is never a bad thing.
