It has been a long time.

Hello everyone here,
It has been a long time since I have found myself on POZ. For those of you that have given me so much support I want to give you an update.
I have been doing pretty good. My doctors have balanced out my affect with pharmaceuticals and I have found a wonderful counselor that I see regularly. I am on a disability retirement now and social security. My parents have been helping me with school, and I am in my second year of a second masters degree this time in Mental Health Counseling. I volunteer at the local GLBT community center one day a week, and I watch my beautiful granddaughter four days a week. I have found that I do so much better with some kind of structure in my life.
Life is not all peaches and cream. I struggle with all the medications, at times I still feel isolated, I long for a relationship that is nurturing and loving. But I have a purpose.
I have been working on some art work for I have a degree in fine arts as well. It is very therapeutic for me.Some day I hope to go back to work, some doubt I will, but I have hopes that life will move forward.
Thank you for all your support.
Peter

It is good to meet you.  I admire you for volunteering.  I've been thinking I need to do that, too.  Are your problems just from the meds or HIV itself, or both?  Whatever it is, I wish ya good health.

Wow Pete, it has been a long time.  It sounds like you're doing so much better!  I think that's wonderful, and I hope things continue going well.  I, myself, have struggled with depression in the past, and also find I do better with structure.

Here's to good days!
