Dr is talking about changing me to Truvada/Issentress
« on: April 26, 2013, 09:38:43 pm »
For two years I have been on Truvada/Selzentry. Hit undetectable rather quick. Then in Dec tested and was at 40. He had me retest a week later came out UD. Tested in beggining of April and was 30. He had me retest again last week and it came back at 30 again. So its close to UD but not UD. i have missed maybe 3 doses in the two years. He is not sure why Im not testing UD but he is considering a med change. Any thoughts?

I think that an advice is not possible because the studies about blips are contradictory.
Some say that blips til 100 are most likely only artefacts and HIV rubbish that cannot repiclate. Even after drawing blood the cells can release virions, especially when the sample is stored for more than 12 hours.
Other studies say that Blips are dangerous and can cause resistance and mutations, even below 50 copies. You find a lot of different opinions.
I also had blips of ca. 40 in the past. The doctor says that it is no problem because Prezista and Celsentri are not very prone to resistance. I dont have resistances or mutations so far. I would not worry about the blips as long they are below 50 copies.
