Nashville Cares Aids Walk
« on: July 06, 2010, 11:14:01 pm »
It takes place October 2nd. I was wondering before I sign up if anyone else is going and would like to form a team?  or just hang out with me and the husband? we've never been to an aids event this is our first.  and I'm skittish around big crowds and would feel more comfortable with people I was at least somewhat familiar with on here..

Well I registered a team...if anyone would like to join let me know. I'm aiming for 10 team members and to raise at least 1,000.  I dont know if thats considered a big goal or a small, but I'm confident I should be able to do it.

Hi Ravhyn-
Wish I could join you all --- I walked in my first AIDS walk this year (Florida AIDS Walk - 10K) ---- It was great.  You will enjoy the experience.  It strengthens the sense of empowerment one has....

Congrats on signing up!

The Florida one was 10K (so around 3.5 miles, I think) -- we made a day of it -- had the t-shirts, blew bubbles, then went and ate afterwards.  I was a little sore the next day.  LOL  --- What can I say, I have a desk job.... :-[

LOL understandable, my mom actually was whinning on the phone because it's a whole mile LOL.  I reminded her she probable walks more then a mile everyday walking around the store she works at.

I have a buddy of mine in FL who is positive, I've been trying to contact him too see if maybe he wants to come up for the walk.  I haven't seen him since High School, andmy best friend should be coming as well. just months after she found out I was poz they learned her pregnant sister was :( so it's been a double whammy for her.
