Long lasting Seroconversion with no spleen
« on: September 17, 2012, 05:22:46 am »
Needing some advise on long lasting Seroconversion with no spleen.
Been 8 weeks now since diagnosed with hiv.Docs said that if they tested me a week earlier they would of missed it .Practically straight after being diagnosed every day feels like i have been hit by a truck, high fever, rapid weight loss ,swollen glands, vomiting.thrush ,night sweats list goes on.
As to my understanding it should not last this long, day by day getting worse and am fed up with this pain.
Is this going to end or what as i cant move on under this pain every day.
Is there any one else out there with no spleen that can tell me this will pass.
My docs are not sure as not many people out there are living hiv and no spleen
and cant really tell me anything straight'
Is any one out there that has been through this then can tell some info

Cheers Shannon

I am so sorry to hear about your suffering.
Aren't any of these doctors discussing the idea that you should go on HAART, now.
If not, why aren't they.

I am sorry to hear you're going through all this.  I remember feeling like I had the worst case of mono ever.  I could barely brush my teeth and shower.  I had no energy.  This lasted for a few months, with other nagging symptoms going on for a good six months.

I wish I knew more about having the virus with no spleen.  Do you see a doc who is very knowledgeable with HIV?  Did you get sick a lot prior to infection?
