In 2003 Dr. Noelia de Mingo killed 3 people at the hospital where she worked and injured other 7. Patients and other Drs had complained many times about her behavior: laughing for no reason, agressive behaviour, wrong diagnosis to patients, she typed on the computer´s keyboard with the computer disconected, etc.
The phsichiatrist talking in the documentary is my neighbour. He is always on TV.

The complete story (in spanish).

For years, bipolar disorder patients were diagnosed as psychotic or Schitsophrinic..this is a term that is rarely used nowadays..and we all know that Bi-polar can be treated and patients can live a normal life when described the correct meds..not only is the story 5 years old but really has nothing to do with HIV...is there a reason you brought this up?

Well...it has to do with living with HIV if you happen to be at that hospital picking your meds and a crazy Dr. like her appears in the corridors...What can we expect from a NHS that does not pay attention to the complaintments of other Drs or patients?
Why 5 years later? because the program was shown on TV last week for the first time.
Paranoid schizophrenia is her diagnosis till today and I think walking with a 10 inch knive killing everyone you find on your way is a rather agressive behaviour.

Schizophrenia does not seem to be an outdated diganosis according to the Mayo Clinic website:

I didn't say it was out dated, I said it was a term rarely used.

In an extreme case of someone with Bi-polar and one who suffers a full on psychotic incident and is lacking the proper treatment or diagnosis could well be diagnosed as having schitzophrenia..I'm not saying schitzophrenia doesn't exist..but it can be hard to diagnose because in extreme cases the signs and symptoms are very similar.

While I think this is a very sad case, I can't help but wonder how many patients who were "Living with HIV" were actually there picking up their meds...just curious.
