    Thursday the daycare my daughter goes to requested everyone to dress up the kids in Patriots gear.  I'm a Miami Dolphin fan for life and the Patriots are in the same division, so they are despised.  My wife has proved to not be so loyal and bought a jersey for OUR daughter to wear.  Gia came home yesterday doing some awful Patriots cheer.....

   I'm disappointed.  I should have called in and kept her home with me.

My folks live near Indy.  We went up there for the festivities.  It was a mess.  Couldn't move, couldn't find a bathroom, and no cell service--OMG!  We had a conversation about how football is so integrated in our society.  If you're not into it, you have a hard time fitting in, when all your friends are talking about it and watching it.  Even at work, if you aren't in on it with co-workers and managers, then you feel different.  I've seen managers/bosses become more chummy with those employees they can talk football.  I'm not a big football fan, but I've tried to keep up with it enough to be able to discuss it.  I played basketball (played Center) all through school until I was cut from the varsity team in highschool.  That may come as a surprise to many.

Just my luck I grew up in the Bronx, NY as a Jets and Mets fan.  I could have walked to Yankee stadium as a boy but the teams at Shea were far more colorful and I became a fan.  So I also don't like Boston or Philadelphia teams (though they do have great fans, pretty tough and nasty as well,  I must say) and I'll root for the Giants as some friends will be happy.

The hype is insane nowadays.  When the Jets became the first old AFL team to win the Super Bowl in 1969 it forced the merger of the old AFL into the NFL.  Anyway Madonna plays at halftime as someone mentioned. so that will bring in fans, as if the game needs them!
