Genome Testing
« on: January 12, 2013, 10:12:37 am »
I am having issues with BCBS paying for part of the Genome test that my Dr ordered  to determine if I had any resistance to medication.  When I received my EOB it indicated that the a portion of the test ran was basically not a medically necessary test and that it was not covered.  Has anyone ran into this?  Both my Dr and I have  filed an appeal and I am still waiting to hear there determination.  The BCBS rep also stated that each state has different criteria when it comes to testing and that since mine was filed through BCBS of GA I need to file my appeal with BCBS of MA since that is where my plan is managed out of.
