To paraphrase "Blade Runner," I don't know how much time I have... but then again, who does?
Great quote and great movie.

I think the exact quote is: It's too bad she won't live! But then again, who does?

I was going to put that quote in my profile actually funny you should bring it up as well.

•How long have you been infected (if known or best guess)?  Diagnosed 10/06.  6Cd4 1%,  Dr's best guess probably 6-7 years prior to that...

•How long you have been in your current category?  4 years

•What other categories have you been in over the course of your infection and for how long?  N/A

•If you are in Category B or C what OIs did you experience?  PCP and Bacterial Pneumonia at the same time - that was fun, and Coccidioidomycosis

C3 myself.  Diagnosed 1989 with HIV, Aids in 1994.  Lowest CD4 count was 2, went through severe wasting (got down to 80 lbs, and I'm currently 5'9"), countless bouts of thrush (pharyngeal), fungal infections, severe peripheral neuropathy, bacterial pneumonia, etc.  etc.  Been on lots of different HIV meds, including the early ones.

Of course, there are the lovely effects of having long-term infection, and med side effects like osteoporosis, losing all my teeth, high lipids etc.

I truly admire my fellow LTS'ers.  We may seem cranky at times, but if everyone had been through what we have, I'm sure people would understand.

C3, diagnosed a year ago, infected who knows when,  Wasting, Thrush, Anemia, Staph Infection(s), and potentially a case of PCP that somehow didn't hospitalize me.

There's no such thing as  ''are you currently in''
I was diagnosed with CD4 of 353 which is A2, and that is my diagnosis for good: HIV infection (A2)
even tho' I've never had CD4 below 500 ever again. (I started taking meds 3 days after my diagnosis and CD4 went fro 353 to 510 in a month). Now my CD4 cells are 1000 (900-1100 depending on a lab result), but I'm still A2.

But If I were to folow your logic:
''current category'' is A1
    * How long have you been infected (if known or best guess)?  2.5 years
    * How long you have been in your current category? 2 years
    * What other categories have you been in over the course of your infection and for how long? A2, a few months

If I read the criteria right, it's based on where I started not where I am now. I first presented to my doctor with thrush and a count of 187.  I'm in stage B3?  I have been asymptomatic and above 300 since I started treatment.  This year my tcells have taken a steep upswing.  I tested this month at 605 (I'm amazed).  I've  solidly been in stage A2 since I started treatment in 2001.  I voted A1 because that's where I am now.  Yeah, I know - but B rate just wasn't working for me, and B3 is in the AIDS range and that is really not working for me.  :)
I probably was infected in 1991.  Wow - 19 yrs.  Where did that time go?
Lowest cell count 187, hightest 847 (which I consider a bad lab result because it was so out of range with my tests before and after). I consider my current lab result of 605 the hightest and probably reliable.
A round of applause to us all for hanging in.

Another C3 here and I've been on about 12 combos or so. 26 years poz and the mileage shows, but still beats being dead.

Hear, hear, but also boo hoo, cos C3 should be a vertabra or sommat, not a life path. To be blessed by life is one thing, indeed a great gift, but oftentimes I wish treatment was better at miitigating the immunological effects of the virus, especially for my friends (mostly now gone) diagnosed when I was a young'un and only did blow-jobs.
