Mr. Hong Kong "Beauty Pageant"

It's time of year again, when bored housewives and horny gay men gather together around TVs to watch the irresistible parade of beefy men wearing skinny bikini bottoms while answering silly questions about world peace. How we LUV the Mr. Hong Kong Pageant!

Last year highlight scenes include out-of-control starlets grabbing some of the contestants on stage while laughing so hard that some had wet their panties (while we cannot confirm, but I would be surprised that they didn't from their hysterical reactions), female judges giving the chance to touch all contestants' abs to see if they were "hard enough", etc.

The inevitable but often irrelevant and non-senscial game of guessing who is NOT QUEER (usually less than 1/5 is straight, according to our collective gaydar) has already begun in all local and even overseas Chinese gay forums.

I have attached two photos of my current favorites, who actually "share" a flat together! ;D

Are there "male" beauty pageants in Aussieland as well?! I thought you guys just have bad reality shows..

But you do need to be rather, er, airheaded to subject yourself to that kind of treatments on TV. I just want to see them in skinny wet shirts or bikinis, so who cares.. :D

I don't think we do. As you note all our pretty, vacuous boys are on reality TV or play professional football of one code or another.

Haha, they are more powdered up than they need to..! But the thing is, they need to PRETEND that this show is targeting women, not gay men.

And the women in the show - starlets, celebrity judges, etc - all look and act like born-again fag hags (and some are known to frequent gay clubs) that they have become OUR proxies.

Again, just a fun camp show that I am looking forward to! ;D

Yes, he's 100% Chinese.

Some of us in the south (Guangdong, Guangxi, etc) do have this Pacific Islander looks that are very different than the Mandarin Chinese in the north. Like this guy below, he lives just 3 blocks from me and I see him almost regularly on the morning ferries to the city. Super cute and he does have this looks that people don't usually think of as "Chinese".

My boyfriend is the same way. He was born here in the USA but is 100% Chinese people always say he looks mixed or half white but hes is 100% hot. :P

Not true, mon chou.  One of my best friends resides in Hong Kong, is Chinese (from Boston), speaks fluent Mandarin, and designs Barbie clothing for Mattel.  She regularly took me to *certain* places in NYC that she stated were more than passable, and we'd order from the "for Chinese people only" secret menus.  In fact, I should fly out to see her before she moves back to LA and give you a good spanking.

Are you telling me there wasn't a single decent place when you lived in SF?  Impossible.  It's not like looking for Chinese food in Dallas.

.. and the headline in the most popular Chinese newspaper is "Brokeback couple take home all the prices". (note: "brokeback" in Cantonese has become the synonym of "gay" since the movie). Apparently all the female (faghag) judges like muscle too. The American Chinese "couple" that came back just for this competition both became finalists, and the elder one was crowned Mr. Hong Kong. The younger sidekick didn't win anything but collected a lot of online votes (he basically spoke and acted like a silly annoying Malibu highschool girl during the Q&A session).

I can't put my finger on it, but I find these photos nostigically entertaining.  They take me back to the mid 70's when the gay bars in Sacramento had drag shows every weekend.  It was the thing to do. 

For the price of a beer we could have some genuinely cheap thrills.

Haha.. being a bottom I care more about the front.

I have been trying to locate some videos on Youtube, but apparently TVB is blocking a lot of them. I think you'd be able to find the whole show (even Mandarin-Chinese subtitled) on Youku or Tudou. I am sure you know how to use them.  ;)

Yes, they do allow . My bf dragged me there 2 years ago. There were not too many other guys there. My ears hurt for 2 weeks after that show from the female shrieking.
