I can't remember :-[
-
I'm just on Atripla normally takes it at 7pm nightly
-
Lunchtime (Prezista based combo)
-
morning, always same time (alarm) (no need for food), then forget about it and get to work or back to sleep (or the other way around): time spend: 2 sec.
never have to carry meds but have some spares in travel bags or car
once daily viramune + Epzicom
Eric
-
I take Prezista, Norvir and Truvada, all at once daily. Compared to regimens from the 90's that included Crixivan and it's eating restrictions, or Viracept, Zerit and Videx with it's side effects like diarrhea and facial wasting or Sustiva and its mental issues, this has been my easiest combo ever.
Jody
-
generics of truvada and viramune,
simvastatin 10 mg and aspirin 80 mg,
all at 8pm.
VL UD CD4 900-1400, last @ 50%.
on meds since July 1997.
-
Atripla every night for 3.5 years...1 pill once a day
-
Didn't we already do a thread on this?
You're thinking of the meds thread in LTS.
I'm not gonna post my meds. I'm not on hiv meds, but I do take other meds daily. I'm gonna keep you guessing. A woman should have some mysterious aspects to her life, doncha think? :D
-
Atripla is one of my pills taken each day. I was taking an herbal supplement (Mukta Vati) with my BP med (Hydrochlorothiazide) but have stopped because it may not be a good idea to take that with my Atripla. I had a slight increase in VL count in my Jan 6th blood draw (less than 20 copies up to 80) so I dont want to take that risk of putting herbals in my system that may affect my HIV meds.
Oh.... every now and then I take my Xanax if the need is there and when flying... always a Valium or two. Thats it.
-
Reyataz/Norvir every morning with breakfast (between 7 and 10 am)
Atripla every evening -- somewhere in the vicinity of 9:00
Mike
-
Viramune , Epzicom, hydrochlorothiazide 25mg and Simvastatin 40mg
Ray
-
Bed time.
-
truvada and selzentry. the truvada and selzentry together in the am. and then one selzentry in the evening.
i have always taken a whole bunch of supplements.
-
AM, with food: Prezista, Norvir, Isentress, Truvada plus 3 2mg loperamide and 3 capsules of Pancrease, 1 calcium/vit D, 1 fish oil tablet
PM, with food: Prezista, Norvir, Isentress, plus 3 2mg loperamide and 3 capsules of Pancrease, 1 calcium/vit D, 1 fish oil tablet and 1 multi-vitamin
Bedtime: 3 capsules of neurontin
Klonopin, as needed, which is generally always :)
So about close to 30 pills a day :-*
-
I still have diarrhea no matter what I do, take or eat, been that way since 1996 :-[
-
Morning-- Viramune, Multivitamin, Fish Oil, Vitamin C
Evening-Viramune, Truvada, Fish Oil, Mirtazapine
-
No HIV, or supplement, pills yet.
-
Reyataz, Norvir, Truvada, and Acyclovir taken with dinner
-
Morning with food -- Prezista, Norvir, Epzicom, Lescol, Fish Oil (2), multivitamin, calcium, vitamin D, aspirin
Evening with food -- Prezista, Norvir
Very early in the AM once a month with water only (NO COFFEE :( ) -- Boniva
As needed -- scotch, cialis
everything but the scotch, multivitamin and aspirin were initially suggested by one doc or another -- and they approve of the aspirin and multivitamin...
For bonus points ;) I keep a list of every drug prescription that I've had since AIDS with the dates, dosing and, most importantly, whether I stopped them because they caused a problem. Each doctor gets a copy, the list of my other "medical providers", the lists of tests, procedures and followup dates and the most recent labs.
-
Reyataz, Norvir, Truvada, and Acyclovir taken with dinner
What's the Acyclovir for ???
never-mind I looked it up :( sorry to hear this Mikie :-[
-
What's the Acyclovir for ???
a persistant herpes zoster infection. without it I have a "shingles" outbreak in my left hand about 4 times a year. :o
The sweet part of taking acyclovir is that not only does it keep the HZ in check, but it has anti-viral properties and actually helps keep the HIV in check too. w00T!

I had a zoster vaccination (the one where they inject under the elbow of skin) way back in 2002, an Bob had one in 2003, for you, I guess that would be kinda redundant now :-\
-
I guess that would be kinda redundant now :-\
I had full-blown shingle outbreaks (the spot on my rt hip still aches at times) way back in 93, 94, and 96 when I was living with da aids. Even though I was way below the age guidelines, because of the HIV, I did had the Zostavax shot a while back - and still had another outbreak or two. ::) The daily dosage of acyclovir however does the trick though - with both big and little outbreaks of shingles.
the only time it failed me was while Jim was in the hospital those 2 months in 08. I was under severe stress at that time (a trigger) and will admit to missing quite a few doses (another trigger!) of everything (thank goodness the HIV meds didn't screw up!!), so I had several outbreaks during that time and for a following couple of months. But that incident did prove to me and the doc that the daily acyclovir really did work.
-
Mikie, I never had shingles before, and since my vaccination, I don't even get cold-sores or fever-blisters anymore, we both don't......anyway, good luck to you, and keep on taking your acyclovir ;)

-
Atripla - 1 x a day - evening before bed - because it makes my skin look radiant ;D

-
Mult vit at 10pm (if u take mult vit in the morning time u pea out the vit by lunch at night this way it works better)
This makes no sense -- show me something to back it up. If it gets filtered out by the kidney, it gets filtered out -- whether you piss it out while the sun is shining or whether it is sits in your bladder waiting for you to trot to the toilet in the nighttime.
edited to add: In fact, unless you have dinner at 10pm, you are probably losing absorbtion of the vitamins. Many are better absorbed with food -- plus taking a multivit on an empty stomach can cause you to have an upset stomach. Of course, I suppose if you aren't fully absorbing them, then you would be right -- you ain't peeing them out -- your shitting them out instead.
-
I can piss fish oil by noon...
-
Do those of you taking Vit D take regular or the D3? I'm still confused which is best, or if one is better. If I remember correctly, D3 is the activated form?? Which means you don't need sunlight to activate it? Just curious, because I was going to start taking Vit D.
And, my partner has sold me on fish oil. His lipids have really improved and he also believes it has helped him lose weight. But, he also went on a new lipid med at the same time, so hard to tell. I'm not sure how it would help with weight--unless the fish oil and lipid med cause the body to metabolize more efficiently.

D3 is what the endocrinologist put me on

Cholesterol used to be 324, last draw was 156. Triglycerides were 1606, last draw 156. Part of the problem for me was being on Kaletra.

ahhhh, yes.
I have labs coming up on the third and im real curious how my daily fish oil may have worked over the past 3 months.
-
Ahh the Kaletra years. I remember taking those orange pills and 20 minutes later I would find them still intact in the toilet bowl. At the end they literally just passed right through me.

if you would have taken it in liquid form you could have had the same result - it just would have come out the other end. ;D

Just to be on the safe side, why don't you print out the five pages of the "Nutrition, Wumpette Style" thread and have your doctor include it in your medical file.

Then his doctor won't wanna be his doctor anymore once the truth is reviled ;D

OK,
In the morning, I take:
Isentress,
Truvada,
Pantoprazole (40 mgs),
Claritin (10 mgs),
Naproxen (375 mgs)
Fish oil (6,000 mgs)
multivitamin
Calcium/Vit D combo (600mgs/400mgs respectively)
Milk Thistle (180 mgs standardized),
Vitamin D (1,000 mgs = 4 times a week)
CoQ10 200 mgs,
Alpha Lipoic Acid (800 mgs)
Acytel L Carnitine (400 mgs)
Selenium (200 mcgs)
Advair (1 puff)
In the evening, I take:
Isentress
Niaspan (1,000 mgs)
Aspirin (325 or however much is in a standard aspirin)
Naproxen 375 mgs
Advair (1 puff)
Actually, it was much worse when I first started taking meds in 96. I took 17 HIV pills or capsules every day, with many, many, many more restrictions. (Think Crixivan.)
But on the plus side, I was taking so many pills, I had no appetite and was delightfully thin (153 pounds and just under 6 feet tall.)
HUGS,
Mark

For those you who are on a lot of medications please keep a list in your wallet or purse of your medications and dosages. People come into the emergency room and say "I take a nerve pill and a water pill, something for my blood pressure and a little pink pill that I forget what it does". It is really helpful if there is an accurate list.

I keep a list on my smartphone, using Evernote (http://www.evernote.com/) which can also be accessed from any computer.
Actually my new strategy will be to buy a new scanner and scan all medical documents and keep in Evernote, then also store them in Dropbox. Though technically I can scan things even with my phone, but they don't look all that proper.

I have a laminated list that I keep in my wallet. Whenever I am asked to provide a list, I give it to them to make a copy and add it to my file. They always appreciate that I have the list.

Yeah I have that too, and so does Bob, we keep that in our wallets, just in-case one of us passes out, and has to go into the ER ;)

I've just been cleaning out all the nooks and crannies around the house, and I came upon one of the zippies I used to use to store my meds when I first got sick.
Good times...good times....

Oh boy... not one of those types that laminates. Why don't you just make a decoupage egg with the list?
I have this one friend that gets high on meth and then uses one of those labeling machines for everything in his house. Well, that is when he's not busy making holes in the walls or digging up the floor because he thinks miniature Mexican guys are hiding under the floor.

Maybe he's looking for old sex tricks past or present , are just tweaking out ;D

He still lived with his ex-boyfriend, and he thought the ex was hiding sex tricks in the house. That house was just a cesspool of amphetamines for several years, and before that heroin. It was so messy I was afraid to go visit. Several time the cops would get called, and one of them got put in jail for hitting the other one over the head with a fireplace hot poker thingie.

That is so sad :(

Believe it or not, but with all of that drug use neither of them has ended up a pozzie. Gotta give those girls some credit!

Well , but they get no credit for being tweakers, haven't they realized that you'll never have a dam thing tweaking your life away like that, think of all the money they could have saved for themselves...sad :(

norvir, reyataz and truvada - 1x/day; evening time between 19h-22h with some food ...
