Title: Worried but i dont think i should be , help
Post by: superjake132 on April 11, 2014, 02:37:20 am
2 weeks ago i had protected oral sex and vaginal sex with a CSW in Sydney, she made me shower before and after and made me wash my hands with hand wipes before we started, im not sure why i did it but i am sure going to tell you i will not be doing this again , i am a single man so i havent affected anybody thatway, the whole encounter lasted about 10 minutes or so, I had a few beers but not so many that i couldn't remember the incident she put a condom on and performed oral and then preceded to vaginal sex with a condom on still as far as i know the condom did not break or slip as it looked intact the whole encounter , the only time she took the condom off was when she was using her hand and then i ejaculated and she wiped it up with a tissue. I have been to a local clinic 5 days after and did a urine test and the results came back negative for other STDs such as clamydia and gon , the lady at the clinic said there is absolutly no reason for me to test if i used a condom for vaginal and oral sex , i also told my doctor and he said the same thing that its pretty much near impossible for a disease to make it past a condom, i have had no symptoms except for a headache/ migraine 1 day after the encounter and slight muscle twitches but iv been told its either from the medication im taking (doxycycline) or just stress and anxiety over this. deep down i think i know im alright but im still stressing, thanks you guys run an amazing forum and i know you are helping alot of people here with the same anxiety / problem.

Jake,

You did not have a risk for hiv infection. You did the only thing you needed to do and used a condom for the vaginal intercourse. Oral isn't an hiv risk even without a condom.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED TO TEST FOR HIV SPECIFICALLY FOLLOWING ORAL OR PROTECTED INTERCOURSE, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Thanks ann for the reply so quickly ,
im just worried about the what if factor say if it did break but it didnt or there was a small hole but i saw her take it off with a tissue before the hand job and i think it was fine, then again i asked her std status and she said she was clean and gets scanned every 3 months and was negative and she always uses condoms on every client

Jake,

If the condom had broken, you'd KNOW. It's obvious when they break. It's not about tiny holes - that's a myth put out primarily by the Catholic Church and they don't want anyone to use condoms in the first place. (The new Pope has backtracked on that a bit, but their misinformation is still out there.)

Sex workers use condoms to protect themselves and their livelihood, NOT you, so you can be sure that the condom was used correctly and if it had broken, she would have said something about it.

At the end of the day, if you cannot bring yourself to believe you did not have a risk for hiv, wait at least six weeks, then go test and collect your negative result. As a sexually active adult you should be having regular, COMPLETE sexual health check ups anyway. It's what responsible adults do.

BTW, while I realise you're only repeating what the sex worker said to you, to say that someone is "clean" when talking about STIs implies that those of us who are living with hiv are "dirty" somehow. It's offensive, so please do not use that word in that context again. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

thanks Ann

im sorry i really didnt mean it that way i guess now i understand im really appreciative in what your doing on this forum if i end up fine in the future which thanks to your word i believe , i want to stay on this forum and try and help people with the anxiety problem that i guess alot of people have

i guess youre right i hear normally condom breakage makes a noise plus i do remember her taking it off just before she started using her hand on me and it still looked like a condom, the women looked pretty professional and looked like she looks after her self like you said, its probably just anxiety, i have no hiv symptoms (yet) but i dont think i will in the future, i do have a pain in the testicles but
not severe but i hear that may relate to anything from inspection all the time to another std not related to hiv as i hear testicle pain is not a hiv symptom but another std like chlamydia , luckily. what i found out today is that my medication for acne (doxycycline) is a cure for chlamydia and gonoreia and also syliphis , i just want to say thank you again i will test for peace of mind like you said i reall love what you guys do on here and i hope i can help in the future for other people

Jake,

If you read the Welcome Thread like you're supposed to, you'd know that:

1. Only authorised persons are permitted to answer questions in this section of the forums.

2. You only get three free posts before you have to take out a subscription.

If you want to help people, perhaps you could educate your friends and family about condom use. While I appreciate your offer to help here, I must decline.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!!!
