Title: New Lab Results
Post by: tnboy on May 04, 2007, 05:31:06 pm

    April 2007     T-cell = 15
                       VL= 338,258

   January 2007 T-cell=21
                       VL= 144,000

  October 2006 T-cell=51
                       VL= 204,198

  July 2006       T-cell= 170
                       VL= 254,000

 April 2006        T-cell= 191
                       VL= 130,000

    My last year at a glance but on a good note,other than fatigue, I have had no illness or anything out of the ordinary. I have been HIV+ for 5 years now and have not had to be put into the hospital once. They say all my other lab work looks great!

  I do feel very Lucky to be doing so well given the odds.

 Just wanted to share..

Mike

Mikey,

I remember when my numbers hit the skids (I hit a T-Cell count of 15 in about October last year) Frau Eva noted that she had patients who'd "walked around with counts of 20 for years", but I suspect they were exceptions rather than the rule.

Nevertheless, I'm aware that you find yourself in a difficult position regarding getting access to HAART so I'm not going to launch into the standard "ZOMG! You Really Need To Consider Treatment!!!" spiel.

Coz you already know that.

I'll just tell you I love you and you know where to find me if you need to talk. :-*

Hi Tom,

Who is handling your medical care and what kind of conversations have you had about meds?

It's great that you are maintaining a strong attitude and that you haven't been suffering OIs. I just wonder what the pros are saying to you and who the "they" are who are saying your labs are otherwise good.

Fill us in some more if you can.

My Man Matty,

   Thanks for the support and your offer to chat. You always put a smile on my face and I always Love hearing from you and will be in touch.. :-* :-* Much Love to You !!

  Hey Andy,

 It's me tnboy, "Mike" from TN. :)
 I know I have not posted that much in a while but "How soon we forget"..lol.. ;D

Andy, rather than repeat myself, you might check out my most recent threads and get an ideal of the issues I have been dealing with for a while now. If you have any particular questions I will be more than happy to answer than for you.

As for the "they" you ask about, My VL report is done by "LabCorp" and all the other test by "Quest Diagnostics Incorporated"
The ones passing the results on to me are my HIV Doctor I have been seeing the 5 years I have been positive and his nurses. The Doc and staff are very concerned and very aware of the problem and are doing what they can to help resolve the med issue. We follow every lead we get and many have helped with that as well.

I think many people here in the United States do not really believe, or want to believe, that we actually have people in our own country who simply cannot any meds we may need. The assistance programs do not help everyone.

I hope this helps, I am not very gifted at explaining things in detail but I will do my best to answer any questions anyone may have.

Thanks Guys,
Mike

Hello tnboy,

I hope all is well with you.  What part of Tennessee do you live in?  I am in Memphis, Tennessee.  What programs have you tried?  I am not currently on meds, but I know that there are a lot of programs out there for people who need assistance especially with their medications.

Hit me back when you get a chance.
